Hello and welcome to PlayStation Access. My name is Rob and these are the PlayStation Store highlights for Tuesday the 6th of May, 2025. First up this week is the nightmarish stopotion adventure, The Midnight Walk. Traversing a dark and fantastical highway with your fire jar buddy/pet Potboy, trying to survive encounters with the terrifying monsters that fancy you for supper. You can try fending them off with your cannon, though we’ll probably spend most of our time running away. Experience the incredibly atmospheric Claymation world on the TV, or have a go in VR if you think you’re brave enough. Check out The Midnight Walk when it becomes available on the 8th of May for PS5 and PSVR 2. Next up, we have intriguing combat focused indie RPG Imperial. The game’s mysterious setting has returnal vibes. Your elite mercenary is sent to a distant outpost where humanity has discovered an inexplicable monolith created by an unknown civilization for an unknown purpose. You take missions inside the monolith’s four quadrants, battling automatons, discovering loot and artifacts, and gradually uncovering more about its origins. Combat is divided into three weapon archetypes, each with their own move set and implied strategic approach. And there’s tons of experimenting to be done with your loadout to max out elemental effects. Plus, while this has the feel of a focused indie title, the world building and storytelling through the expedition campaign PCs gives Imperial a compelling depth. Imperial is available on PS5 from the 8th of May. Next up, we have Revenge of the Savage Planet, the follow-up to 2020’s hit comedy shooter. Aside from a shift from first to third person, this sequel is offering more of the same upbeat satirical hy jinks as the original. After being laid off and left stranded on a planet far, far away, you decide to traverse the galaxy, shooting and collecting your way across various vibrant alien worlds, including one planet based on retro pinball machines. And if that sounds like too much fun for one person, you can always share it with a co-op pal instead. Revenge of the Savage Planet lands on the store on the 8th of May for PS5. And last up this week is Captain Blood, a swashbuckling 17th century pirate adventure originally slated to arrive back in 2010 before being shelved for a decade and a half. Brought back to life with a touchup for modern hardware. You can finally experience this old school hacken slasher and venture across the Spanish main to become the glorious pirate you’ve always known you are. Captain Blood is out now for PS4 and PS5. As always, if you’re looking for a bargain, then make sure to check out the deals tab on the PlayStation store.
