Yeah, we are going to look at the games that are launching with the Nintendo Switch 2. Yes, we’re going to go through every game that’s releasing on launch day for the Switch 2. Uh, for the most part, they won’t be in order, but we might save say the 10 best or our 10 most anticipated for the for the last to uh just to add a bit of spice to proceeding. Spice is nice. Spice is nice. All right, what are the games coming out that you’re going to be enjoying in just about a month’s time? Let’s find out. [Music] Let’s start then with Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. Uh, a game that most people, I’m sure, would feel should be a packing title. Used to be the case back in the day, didn’t it? Yeah. You’d like to have that game that was free that kind of just made you feel like you got something, you know, well, free. Free. Yeah. With your console. I mean, this could have been the the Wii Sports for the Switch 2, couldn’t it? Something that just shows off some of the mechanics. Yeah. Is a nice fun game to play. makes you feel like, as you say, you got something for your money on launch day without having to go out and buy something else, but they’ve not chosen to do that on. Ah, but regardless of that, it does actually look fun. It looks like a fun little quirky classically Nintendo thing, doesn’t it? It does. Yeah. There was a game on the Switch, name of which escapes me, which was reminds me of or this reminds me of that rather, sorry, which was like a a game making app, whatever you want to call it. Um, but in terms of how you kind of delved into the inside of a machine and saw the inner workings and what have you. It’s got that that look to it. This one hasn’t it? Yeah. What game is that? Always in the comments people solve these things. Yeah. Yeah. It’s I can see it like it had a yellow box and I just can’t think what it’s called but it reminds me of that. Um, but yeah, one that probably should have been free with a console but isn’t so out anyway. Next we’ve got Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Switch 2 edition. Yep. Same as the Switch One, 60 fps, better resolutions. Enjoy. Exactly. And we might as well chuck in uh Tears of the Kingdom at the same time. Same same deal. Switch to edition of a well-loved Switch game. If you uh if you haven’t bought it, buy it. If you have, I don’t know. Do what you do what you feel. Do what you feel you have to do. Exactly. It’s one of those that if you hadn’t for whatever reason picked them up originally, like you’re going to be delighted. Like what a great way to play them for the first time. Absolutely. If you have, I just wouldn’t really I just don’t think it’s essential unless you’re like an ultra hardcore fan, which I know there are lots of those. Oh, for sure. My money is going to go elsewhere. I don’t mind telling you. But I probably will buy the upgrade. Yeah. Yeah, I probably will buy the upgrade for a tenner or whatever it is. 17, whatever it is. I can’t remember. Yeah. So, that is another option, of course, the upgrade path if you do own it already. Next, then we’ve got Delta Rune. This is chapters 1, 2, 3, and four. All bundled together. Uh, chapters one, two, I believe, are on the Switch. Yeah, as it currently stands. Elsewhere as well, of course. Not a series that I played. One that I’m really interested in playing, but again, I’d say not something that’s essential for a Switch, too. Really, you can buy it elsewhere, right? It’s been out elsewhere for a while, of course. Yeah. Minus Chapter 4. Uh, but yeah, not one I’ve played either. We spoke about this in one of our videos that kind of highlight the best games of each year as per Metacritic, and it was on there and very high up in that particular year. I think it was 2018. So well loved series and uh yeah will be on the Switch 2 on launch day. We’ve then got Sonic cross Shadow Generations. So Sonic Generations came out first and they added some some content to it which included the character of of Shadow of course. This has been out elsewhere also. Yeah, I reviewed this on the Switch on the current Switch and it ran fine. Like it was okay. Um again, if you didn’t pick it up originally, I wouldn’t be paying full price for it. I got to be honest. Yeah, I think a lot of this it depends how much it is, you know, I mean, we’ll see the RRP of course, but you know, it’s going to go down relatively quickly at other third party retailers and whatnot. It just depends how much they are on launch day, I guess. Uh, but it’s nice to have options, isn’t it? And you obviously there’s not a 3D Well, there’s sorry, there’s not a platform Mario game at launch. So, there is a platform Sonic game at least. Yeah. And this is the kind of thing as a kid, like if I was going to be getting a Switch for Christmas, I’d be definitely getting Sonic. Oh, all day long. Yeah, all day long. All right, next one then. Uh, this is a game I know very little about. This is Fortnite. Oh man, I can’t stop my kid playing this. It’s crazy. Fortnite. This is actually quite a big release in terms of a showcase for the Switch 2. So, the fact that this one runs at 120 FPS, has mouse mode, all of that stuff. It’s going to be quite interesting to see what difference that makes for console players using the Switch because the whole thing’s crossplatform as well. Yeah. Yeah. So, this is quite a big although it’s it’s Fortnite, we’ve had it a million times, it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out in terms of crossplatform play between Switch and other consoles. Yeah. And it’s just, as you said, it’s an important one to have regardless of whether you like it yourself or not. It’s a bit like Call of Duty, isn’t it? As much as you can say about the Switch, it never got a Call of Duty game, which is just crazy really, isn’t it? It really is. And it just it just seems like one of those games that needs to be on every console, and it it will be. This one will. Fortnite is uh another launch game. Glenn will be there playing it. I’m sure I will. Yeah. Out his new skin. I played about 40 seconds of it in my life. Died very quickly and swiftly moved on to another game. But there you go. Okay. Next one is survival kids. Looks rubbish. It’s not my Look, this is made for This is made for young kids to play co-op. You’re like on this island. You’re doing things together. It looks like the game version of one of those little survival shows where it was adapted for kids. You know, you’d have like these little like toss on an island and they’d be like, “Right, let’s build a raft.” And then they all run around. It looks bad. Do you know what they should make? Right. Survival game for kids. Yeah. Lord of the Flies. That’s the DLC. Yeah. You imagine that? I’d play that. Yeah. So would I. Oh, yeah. I would play that. Come in with that nice like And then the DLC comes out and Mommy the Pig. Yeah. She’s a classic. What’s the matter with you? I can’t play. Yeah. No, don’t don’t do that. Yeah. No, probably probably best not to. No. Next, we got Kunitsugami: Path of the Goddess. Yeah. This was a bit of a surprise that it was a like a launch title. Yeah. Again, it suffered because everyone was like really hoping it would be a physical, you know, like a proper physical. It’s gone that way. Um, but yeah, it looks quite interesting. You’ll probably see from the trailer. We don’t know a great deal. It’s one of those kind of uh trailers that doesn’t give you a huge amount. M just gives you a little a little taste, a little teaser, one to keep your eye out for, but there’s not enough information at the moment for us to go, “Oh, yeah, this is going to be really good about it.” So, I just have to keep it very vague. Fair enough. But it’s coming. So, uh Oh, it’s there, mate. That’s all you need to know, I suppose, isn’t it? I do remember that it’s not full RRP. I think this is one of the cheaper titles, actually. Okay, that’s good. Which is good to see. Yeah. Nice. All right. Next, we got Puyo Pooyo Tetris 2S. I’m glad they put an S on it. Yeah, just to clarify. M. It’s very important, isn’t it? Yeah, it is. I like this series. So good. I do like this series. So, it’s uh a hybrid of uh obviously Puyo Pooyo and Tetris. There are modes where you can play just one game or you can have a version where it kind of switches between the two. You can play someone competitively with them playing Poo Poo and New Tetris, which I think is a really good idea. Uh yeah. No, just a good series. Very fun. There’s two of these on the Switch as it stands. I think we reviewed one of them back in the day. Yeah. Yeah, you got to have a puzzle game at launch, you got to. Yeah, I kind of uh I don’t know what the S adds, but like I said in another video, I think it’s just a cracking game. Yeah, very good game. Right, we then got Noanagara’s Ambition Awakening uh which is a a strategy game, longunning series. I think I read this is the 16th mainline release, man. In this series, it’s been out elsewhere for a few years now, a couple of years. I have played a couple of these games. I don’t remember if I’ve played this one. M I think I might own this cuz it is on the Switch. Uh I think I bought it by Play Asia, but I’ve not uh delved into it yet. But I have played a couple of these before. If you like your strategy games, they’re pretty heavy duty stuff, you know, like complex, you know, they go right into the lore and history and they kind of reimagine certain events and whatnot and use historical characters, but they’re they’re very good games if you like this sort of thing. Yeah, I think I’ve might have played a little bit of this. There’s one on Switch, right? There’s one on the Well, there’s a couple on the Switch, I think. But I think this is on the Switch. Yeah. I think we were going to potentially review it and then I played like an hour and was like, “No.” Oh, you’ve got Yeah. For review, you’d need a couple of weeks free to get into it properly, just to read the like instructions. Exactly. Yeah. It’s a It’s a chunky game, but um they are good games and I’d be intrigued to see how it plays with the mouse, of course, as well. Yeah. I’m really Do you know what? Yeah, you reminded me. I forgot the mouse even existed. Yeah. And that’s something to look forward to for sure. Well, the penultimate game until we move on to our uh ranked ones, if you like, is the arcade archives release of Ridger Racer. Oh, yeah. This looks good. This is good. Yeah. So, Ridger Racer came out in the I think it was the mid90s initially on the PlayStation. It’s a great game. Yeah. Great series. And I’m very much looking forward to this. The Arcade Archives line of games have been a bit of a godsend for me. you know, they’ve they’ve released some cracking arcade titles over the the Switch’s lifpan, and it’s nice to see them, you know, day one continuing out on the Switch, too. Do they usually release these games physically or have they done on the Switch One? Um, they, as a rule, no, they don’t. However, there has been um a few physical compilations in Asian regions for the Neo Geo Arcade Archive releases. Okay. Which you can usually get on. You can get those on Play Asia. There’s probably a link down there. I say probably. There definitely is. So, use it. Save 5%. Why wouldn’t you? Might as well. Okay, let’s move on to the uh the final 10. It’s not technically 10. I’ll explain why in a minute, but these are our ranked one. So, in 10th place, let’s put it that way. We have the Gamecube Nintendo Switch online games that are coming. So, on launch day, as far as I’ve seen, there are three games confirmed being Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Uhhuh. Soulcalibur 2. Good game. And F0 something GX. GX. It’s GX. I was trying I was thinking of X, but that’s the N64 one. Uh, so yeah. What your thoughts on these then? Well, if you’ve not played Wind Waker, you’re going to thoroughly enjoy it. It’s funny cuz when it first came out, people weren’t sure. Yeah, I remember. You remember? I do very much. And all of a sudden it’s become this like wind waker and you can know that half those people haven’t actually played it. But so if you’re one of those, you got something to look forward to. It is decent. Well, you had Ocarina of Time and Majura’s Mask and everyone was expecting a realistic Zelda on the Gamecube and obviously they released this like cell animated one instead and people didn’t like it, but it’s a great game. It’s good. And uh Soulcalibur 2, good fighting series. This one has Link in it as a playable character exclusive to the Gamecube. Yeah, and F-ZX I never played. I played X on the N64, but the F-Zero series is very good and people love this game. So, yeah, that’s those are our 10th place. Yeah. In ninth place then, this one is already out. Um, but I think the mouse plays a big part in this. This is Civilization 7. Yeah, absolutely. Civ, the Civ games always come out in a certain way and then over the coming months they improve regardless. But having this version on the Switch 2 that runs so much better and has the mouse mode is the one big test really for that mode for strategy games. And it passed it with flying colors, didn’t it? Yeah, we played this uh in London, didn’t we, when we played some of the the games for the Switch 2. And it was great to to play it in a way that’s much more I don’t know, it feels more accustomed to what it should have been. Yeah. And but couldn’t be, you know? So, it’ll be great to get proper hands on with that and uh and play it the way it was intended. In eighth place, then we got Bravely Default. So, this is a remake, remaster, I guess is a better word, for a game that released on the 3DS and a game I really enjoyed. So, we had Bravely Default 2 on the Switch. Yeah, of course. Uh but this is the first game in the series. Now, this game uh for let’s say the first half of this game is exceptional as far as I’m concerned. It’s fantastic. They pulled a trick that I didn’t like that made the second half of the game a bit of a slog. Um, so just have that in mind if you haven’t played it before. However, I still think it’s a fantastic RPG. Can I guess what the trick is without spoiling it? Yeah, I think they made you fight a load of the same bosses again. You’re not far wrong. You’re not far wrong. So, uh, yeah, we’ll leave it there, but it’s a very good game and it’s definitely one I will pick up at some point to play through again. In seventh then we’ve got the Hitman game that’s coming which I think is World of Assassinations Signature Edition. It’s got a really long title. I remember that much. Yeah. It’s funny with these because they kind of did Hitman 2 in a certain style. Then IO put out Hitman 3. Then they did World of Assassinations that kind of took missions from all over the shop. Like it is cracking. If you like Hitman games, really good like that sandbox kind of sit there scan an environment for ages. Plan out the route that you want to go. The thing with these games is to understand if you’ve not played the Hitman games in a long time, they’re designed to be replayed, right? So, it’s designed that you learn a route through the level and then you kind of go back and try and find a different way of doing the same thing. All the accidents and all that stuff, you know, but they are really very good and they look stunning. So, I think this is going to be a nice surprise for some people that maybe haven’t played the series in a while. Coming in at number six then we’ve got Yakuza Zero Director’s Cut. I’ve not played I don’t think I’ve played any of the Yakuza games, you know. You I know you reviewed one for the Switch, didn’t you? Yeah. So, I was playing Yakuza Kiwami on the PC because I had just started like some I asked, you know, what’s the one I should start with? Everyone was like, I’ll start with that one. And it was also on Game Pass, so it was an easy pickup. And then thankfully that then released on the Switch, they made that review super easy. And then we got the Yakuza Zero, which it looks like more of the same. like you get a lot of crossover characters and and people like that. Um, obviously Kiru, like a main fella, he’s he’s he’s in there again. It runs much better than it did before. They’re good games. You’d like them. Yeah, I’ve played games I think are similar like The Godfather games back in the day. Sleeping Dogs. Sleeping Dogs is another one I’ve played. So, yeah, I’m sure I’d get on board with it. I just never I don’t know. Never got round to it. But yeah, definitely one I’m looking forward to then obviously giving a go on on the Switch 2 at some point. My only issue is again like the price here versus getting it on another platform. It’s very very cheap right now. Yeah, that’s the problem. I mean with with these ranks um with this list, we’ve not really included price. Yeah, for a minute it can do one. Otherwise, it’s just going to you’re going to have very good games plummet to the bottom and whatnot. So, ignore price for now, but obviously it will factor into when these are picked up and wait for a sale. Absolutely. Yeah. Okay. Then we’ve got uh Cyberpunk 2077. I think it’s the ultimate edition. Yeah, this is like the ultimate bells and whistles fandaba dozy edition that has all the DLC. They’ve like crammed the whole thing onto a cart as well, so you’re getting bonus points with collectors. Absolutely. And it just looks brilliant. You know, they’ve just said that it’s the best version handheld. So like all these people saying you can play on Steam Deck, which you can, but it chugs like this is going to run well. is going to look pucker. You know, you get to see your old wooden acting from Keano. Yeah. When he rocks up. It’s so funny. I was like, who’s this? That’s Kiana Reeves. Ke Reeves. Here he is. Yeah. I’ve never got over his performance in the Bram Stoker’s Dracula film. It was just unreal. The thing with Keano though, he’s just so likable. Like, he’s the most downto- earth Hollywood person ever. Yeah. I mean, to be fair, he got so many bonus points for being in Bill and Ted. Yeah. That it just meant for the rest of his career, he was all right. Very true. Then they did a new one recently, didn’t they? Yeah, I didn’t watch that one. I watched Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey and then uh decided that I didn’t need You didn’t need it. A 50-year-old Kiara. It just wasn’t going to work for me. But what’s his catchphrase? Excellent. That’s it. That was it. And there was a cartoon of it as well, which I used to watch. I love the car. Was it? Yeah. Amazing. See, the kids these days will not know the joys of a Saturday morning cartoon, will they? And when we were kids at school, we had to like name our table groups and our group, our table were called the Wild Stallions. So, yeah, different time, different era, just an example. Okay, in fourth place then we’ve got Split Fiction, which we played at the uh the recent event in London, didn’t we? We did. Yeah. surprising actually to have this so high up on our personal list. Great game. Really enjoyable co-op game. The way it’s designed makes sensible use of both players and their skill sets. And it just had a nice flow to it. Yeah, it really did. Yeah, it’s from the same team that did It Takes Two, I believe, which is another very good co-op based game which is on the Switch and obviously other platforms, but this one had the angle of your two characters. Uh, one was like a sci-fi based character and one was more fantasy based. I’ll be honest, I didn’t see a huge amount of that in the bit we played. They seemed a bit similar, just with different powers, but I’d be interested to see how that kicks in as as the game goes on. Yeah, this is really good. So, I’m looking forward to that one for sure. Right into the top three then. And in third place, we’ve got Mario Kart World. Yeah, I want to put this on there. I know, you know, there’s a talk about price again. Put it out the window for a second. in terms of game like Mario Kart, you wondered how they would make it fresh again. And I think the whole open world whilst still giving you the confines of created tracks is incredibly clever. It is very clever and it’ll be interesting to see how that works cuz when we played this in in London, we only got to play the the actual tracks. Yeah. Uh the characters kind of rolled into the screen and we were told that’s obviously because you would have been doing the open worldy bits first, but we didn’t get to see that. I’m still um slightly amazed that Mario Kart is a a launch title, like the main launch title. Not it’s not a bad choice. I mean, it’s it sells so many copies. It makes sense. But just I don’t know. You get used to there being a platformer or or an open world game or something as a launch game, don’t you? But obviously, it’s not. But yeah, as you say, it’s just going to be really uh intriguing to see how they have refreshed it with those open world segments. So, the DK one isn’t a launch, is it? No, that comes a couple of months off. That’s a bit of a Yeah, it almost would have been It would have made sense in terms of what you’re traditionally used to in terms of numbers and sales. I can 100% see why they’ve done what they’ve done. Yeah. Yeah, of course. And then like it comes to Christmas and you do have your platformer, don’t you? Yeah, exactly. In second place then, another racing game. This is Fast Fusion. Yes. I bumped this right up the list. I had this like down in ninth and then was like, “Oh, no.” Yeah, this is amazing. So, this is from the Fast RMX people. costs 13 quid. Yeah. Yeah. 13 quid. Like it looks amazing. It’s got four player split screen. It’s got like loads of career like modes and stuff. Just looks pucker. Yeah. I’ve played a couple of these. Uh there was one on the Wii U I believe. Uh one on the Wii possibly as well. Uh very good games. Really very good games. They’ve always been cheap downloadable games. Um and it’s nice to see the series make a return. The Don’t be fooled by the price. I don’t think this is like a a cheap and nasty alternative. This is if it goes, you know, going by the past. This is a quality game. This is a quality series. Yeah, absolutely. It’s it’s Shinen Games. They made the the Fast RMX and they made the Tourist, which I would love to have a sequel to as well at some point. And then obviously they’re making this one. And then in number one then we have Street Fighter 6. So this is, as far as I’ve seen, this is coming in two versions. There’s a digital only standard edition, I guess. Yeah. And then you’ve got the years one and two expansion, which obviously adds characters from the first two season passes. Um I I mean, we said last week in a video, didn’t we, about our favorite franchises. One of mine was Street Fighter. Massive fan of the series, but I’ve not played this. I’ve played up to five. Yeah. I just can’t wait to play this one. I really can’t. See, for me, it’s not It wouldn’t be all the way up here. Like, this is absolutely your number one pick for sure. But it’s a good and I could see just from playing it I’m like okay this series has evolved a lot. It’s changed a lot. Yeah. And I I want to dive into the story mode and stuff and I don’t think the story mode is as strong as say like the Mortal Kombat story modes over the years but you know that’s just perh personal preference but I do prefer this series over that. So I just yeah I’m really looking forward to this one. Lovely. So there we have it. That’s uh every game launching as far as we know for the Switch 2. And we uh as we said, we’ve ranked a few at the end there, but let us know your most anticipated. Which games will you be picking up? Yeah, price obviously it plays a big part in the real world purchasing of games and you know prioritizing. But just for a minute, we wanted to forget that and just think about games for a sec. But let us know which games you’re looking forward to the most. Nice one. Thanks very much for watching. As we said, at some points in the video, we do have links to things like Play Asia down there. You can save some money over at switchup.gg. You get 5% in cash back. Over to you, Glenn. Thank you very much. Thank you to our patrons and our channel members for your continued support. And to each and every one of you for watching our videos. Take care and until next time, happy gaming. [Music]
