what’s going on everyone It’s Justin here and today we’re checking out the brand new Asus ROG Zephris G14 2025 It has improved specs performance and in my mind it is the perfect bridge between gaming and productivity in one portable machine that is powerful beautiful durable and essentially like the middle of the lineup in terms of being able to appeal to multiple types of users For those who don’t know ASUS has a very diverse lineup You have the Zenbooks as well as the gaming specific computers as well as the ProArt lineup which is curated towards creatives But with some of the spec updates in this year’s Asus Zephris G14 that is also available in a G16 model I believe that it has excellent performance that is able to suit those who need the graphics power for their daily work as well as playing some of their latest games both on the go and at home And in this video we actually brought the Zephris with us to Taipei for Competex 2025 where we had the opportunity to visit the HQ and also attend Compyex to take a look at the overall ROG and ASUS exhibition And I also want to give a huge thanks to ASUS for sponsoring this video So for starters I think the star of the show here is the graphics and the GPU lineup from Nvidia that they have for 2025 It features a GeForce RTX Studio 5080 GPU as well as the option to spec up to 64 GB of RAM and it also has an improved AMD Ryzen 9 AI processor that you can spec up to the HX 370 So both in the CPU and the GPU a noticeable improvement from last year And so it’s an option that you can really spec to a computer that is able to suit the most portable and powerful setup possible with two terabytes of PCIe memory as well and a beautiful OLED display with a 3K resolution It is a 14-in ROG Nebula OLED display that has a 120 Hz refresh rate 0.2 millisecond response time 500 nits of brightness and 100% DCIP3 color gamut And on top of that Nvidia G-Sync compatibility And so again high resolution beautiful screen that has deep blacks amazing contrast infinite contrast just colors that just bounce us out of the display And so whether you’re like watching movies um TV shows editing content doing color grading you have that full range But also of course when it comes to gaming on the go you’re able to enjoy your games as if you had your monitor back home with that fast response time And I think that’s just like a very impressive package with no compromises in the display element itself When it comes to hardware I personally really like the 14in size I find that it really is the sweet spot And in a lot of ways this computer is a comparable to the MacBook Pro 14in which is definitely a computer that has a lot to have to live up to In terms of hardware it is completely crafted out of aluminum It has a beautiful uni-body design that travels along the entire computer both on the inside and out It weighs in at just 1.5 kg or 3.4 lb and it’s just 0.64 in in thickness And that’s what makes it really impressive because it features that RTX 5080 processor which typically speaking you do need a bigger chassis to be able to adequately cool it while it’s running As you take a look at the outside body as well you have a very elegant indentation with the ROG sign because at the end of the day this is an ROG computer And you also have the iconic strike that goes across that lights up and you can actually customize or just leave it off if you want a more minimalist look So I think between like a creative productivity and a gaming setup you’re able to translate through different identities And it’s also available in this white color right here as well as a darker option It also features a quad speaker setup for multimedia And this keyboard itself is really nice to type on It has that good balance of a traditional productivity keyboard as well as a gaming keyboard with that mechanical aspect to it which again bridges both types of demographics and this little specialized power button right here as well and some additional controls that have been placed on the top It is also a backlit keyboard that has a full RGB array that you can customize depending on the game the colors sound or just the traditional RGB setup and to your own gradients The trackpad also goes edgeto edge which is something that I love And when it comes to the IO you still have a full realm of HDMI Thunderbolt 4 USBA headphone jack DC and you also have a micro SD card slot another USBA and USBC port The only thing that I would have liked to have seen if it was able to fit is a Ethernet port but in this case taking a look at the chassis I’m not really sure how that would work So you do have to use a USB adapter for that But given the ports I think it is a pretty good offering considering you do have the DC that is plugged into its own dedicated port as opposed to taking up a USB port But I would have liked to have seen a port or two considering some peripherals will have to be external to be able to achieve this level of thinness and weight So let’s go ahead and hop over to Computex take this computer with us and take a look at all of ASUS’s HQ and innovations It begins with a tour at the ASUS headquarter where we get to see some of the latest offerings in a presentation navigate through the workplace amenities a cafeteria culture and demonstration of the history in the lineup and company To be able to understand the full scope of the Asus lineup for 2025 we made our way to Compitex in Taipei From the Zephris G14 and G16 seen in this video to the stricks G700 gaming PC that we have a video of coming soon graphics cards and coolers as well as latest AI technology that is seen throughout the entire lineup It’s really an unforgettable experience to see all of the current products on display in one place It was then time to make our way to some of the fun cultural activities including a stop at the iconic Taipei 101 Once again going to the local street markets and really embracing all aspects of what ASUS represents during this trip All while bringing with me and using the Asus Zephris G14 throughout this entire experience So on the aspect of performance as I mentioned there has been some pretty good jumps in terms of the CPU and the GPU I think it is a good jump from last year and that is why I would almost go ahead and purchase this computer if I needed to do creative work such as video editing animations photo editing and coding as opposed to something like a ProArt which currently has specs from the previous year In many real world tests it was probably about 30% faster And when it came to games that I was testing and seeing from the previous generation Zephris G14 to the 2025 model you’re getting up to about 20% higher in terms of frame rates which also gives you the option to push the settings just a little bit And I think given its size and its weight and just how thin it is it is still able to extract a lot of power especially if you go ahead and plug it in Honestly though when I was using it on the go it was able to work really really well on day-to-day workflows It did get a little bit warm in some scenarios when I was absolutely pushing it but that is to be expected And again the stability was still there The battery life is definitely one that is sort of up in the air depending on the use case And with computers like this it is really hard to be able to give a good gauge on battery life because it is so subjective If you’re just doing like daily productivity tasks this computer can last you the whole day no problem But if you are keeping it unplugged and pushing it quite a bit to its limit then you’ll probably get closer to 3 to 5 hours in a lot of cases But the versatility of having a computer that truly works in both day-to-day creative work as well as gaming both portably and at your desktop when you want to plug it in at the end of the day It’s just a good option to have So at the end of the day who is this computer for And I feel like I’ve made it very clear in this video that if you’re a creator who was maybe thinking about the Pro Art maybe the Zenbook is not powerful enough for you because you want that dedicated GPU then this is a really good option And even though it comes from the ROG lineup by default I think it’s really for creators and for gamers as opposed to really just being for gamers And so if you’re someone who enjoys the best of both worlds then this laptop is for you It is a pretty meaningful update from last generation having about 30% improvements in some real world tests and I mean just based on the spec options it is a pretty big step up So as always if you guys enjoy this video make sure go ahead and drop a like on this video subscribe to the channel and I’ll see you all in the next one Heat Heat
