All right, we have a lot of new Nintendo Switch 2 news and leaks to discuss today. And the leaks portion of the video is what we will be kicking it off with. And it also has to do with what I am most excited for with this console launch at this point in time since we know so much about the hardware. And that has to do with the games that are slated to head to the platform because we have multiple credible reports and insiders suggesting that a whole host of new titles are headed to Switch 2. and I want to cover which ones are most likely out of the list of games that you’re probably seeing a lot of talk about online right now. Then we have a whole host of different updates for Nintendo Switch 2 news, including some new game chat requirements uh that will probably annoy some people because it does look like Nintendo has maybe an additional requirement than what you were expecting to be able to log on to Game Chat to speak to your friends, although not necessarily uh not expected from Nintendo. We also have some new mouse control details that we did not know before. Not only dealing with the sensitivity, but also what type of mouse can be used. And it’s not just the Joy-Con. And we finally have to close out a PlayStation published game. Uh potentially lining up for a Nintendo Switch 2 port, which is very interesting considering that Microsoft is the one you should be expecting to bring over a lot of their games. Uh but of course, this one is more in the rumor territory, although I do want to highlight it. So, we’re going to break down all of this information, but before we do, make sure you like, subscribe, and turn on your bell notification to join Sun Nation if you’re new here. And I want to first kick off this conversation right over at my Nintendo News, where you can see the following writeup, which kicks off this entire conversation of source, one of many now suggesting that some big Xbox titles will be headed to Nintendo Switch 2. And it sounds like we should be getting the reveal for these games very soon. and we will talk about kind of the format of how we might see them announced. But The Verge reports Microsoft has a number of Xbox ports coming to Nintendo Switch 2. News emerged today that Microsoft is bringing Hellblade 2 Senua Saga to Sony PlayStation 5 console this summer. The Verge is Tom Warren also noted in his article that Microsoft is currently working on a number of Xbox Game Studio ports for the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Microsoft has not announced any of its major games coming to the new platform, but Warren assure assures the Verge readers that this will change very soon. And Tom Warren, if you are unfamiliar, very established journalist within the industry, track record when it comes to Microsoft stuff specifically is very strong. So, I would expect him to actually have uh the connections that you would need to to know about this stuff. And if you don’t believe him, we have who I would consider to be the goat of leaks, Nate the Hate. remember this individual actually revealed to us the day that the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer would drop and that’s uh you know with no pre-announcement he got a lot of heat online for it so don’t forget that but overall Nintendo direct timing some specific game leaks there’s a lot more in his favor than things he has missed and anyway we have this where a user was posting on X saying every time a game gets announced on a platform from Xbox I will call you a wizard at Nate the hate 2 and he is specifically referencing the fact that Hellblade 2 is indeed headed to PlayStation, which Nate was suggesting would happen ahead of its announcement. Now, of course, you can see on screen as you scroll down a little bit, he says, “Next up, Xbox games coming to Switch 2.” So, this is yet another tease at a large portion of Xbox games headed to the Switch 2 with new ports. And then you have a increasingly reliable source in my opinion, who is Nash Weedle, especially after revealing that Donkey Kong would be the big Switch 2 direct focus game, not 3D Mario. when many people were predicting the other thing around and there’s a whole host of other things they’ve gotten right in the leadup to Switch 2. Um he says, “Nate, a month ago, I got this information with Xbox Games release plan for Switch 2. There are many.” And then Nate does say that there are games on this list I have not heard. Doesn’t mean that they cannot be coming or that they aren’t coming. Uh but I cannot endorse all the titles listed there. So Nate has not heard about all the titles on this list, but just so we can walk through what is actually being suggested here because the list is definitely an exciting one. Uh you have Psychonauts 2, Doom: The Dark Ages. Of course, we’re going to see that at some point. Doom Eternal was very successful on the original Nintendo Switch, and I do think Bethesda, uh, you know, now being owned by Microsoft doesn’t change the fact that they’re going to want to bring that game over. Doom: The Dark Ages is also doing very good right now on PlayStation 5 from a sales perspective. Uh, so Microsoft is fully into this third-p partyy strategy at this point in time. Uh, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, that’s a big one. If we do see that hit the Switch, too. I mean, obviously it has a Series S version. It is definitely the definition of like a nextG looking game. If you look at the visual fidelity of that project overall, I mean, I would definitely enjoy checking that out on the Switch 2 in docked and handheld play, having the ability to take it on the go with you. Uh, so hopefully one that we see announced at some point soon. And some of these might not happen all right around the corner as Nate the Hate said, but I do think that there’s reason to believe a lot of these will ultimately make it. Uh, Ninja Gaiden 4, uh, which is just why not? I mean, I definitely want that playable on the Nintendo Switch 2, and I do think it makes sense. Microsoft is publishing that title from Team Ninja, so everything we’ve seen gameplay-wise promoted so far seems like a perfect fit for Nintendo Switch 2, and I I just think it’s clearly going to make it there. Um, and then we do have Hellblade 2 on this list as well, uh, which would be another one in the visual department. That would be next level to see running on a Nintendo Switch 2. And I haven’t really looked into any of the detailed reviews after that game launched. I I know it seemed like for how big of a project that was for Microsoft, it maybe didn’t get a ton of coverage or maybe enough active users to really generate that huge hype and buzz around it. But as it makes its way onto more platforms, um there’s definitely a chance that that could indeed change. Uh Call of Duty 6, which is really no surprise, if you’re not familiar legitimately in the FTC versus Microsoft trial for this, it was uh established ahead of time that Microsoft would commit to bring content parody on their Call of Duty franchise for the next 10 years. That is a written legal agreement. So any sooner and there hasn’t been the first game yet. So when the first game hits, 10 years from that point in time, you should expect Call of Duty and all of the future games around that franchise to be brought to Nintendo platforms with full content and feature parody to other consoles. So that is not something that’s surprising. We just haven’t seen any official news around it yet. And I think that, you know, starting off with their latest Black Ops probably makes the most sense at this point in time for Switch 2. But you got to keep in mind a lot of these ports uh you know we do of course have kind of a backlog for Nintendo to get because Nintendo Switch has been the only hardware for all this time and a lot of these games just are not feasible to bring to Nintendo Switch. So of course there’s kind of these ports that would have made sense this whole time. They’re not going to drop them all at once. And Microsoft only has so much manpower to actually port these games over that they’re not going to basically have like eight different Microsoft published titles all hit uh day one. Uh Age of Empire 2 from there that you can see to kind of close out this list that he was mentioning. Um, Diablo I 4 uh is something that is in the conversation from Nate the Hate and it’s not a direct confirmation or anything like that, but he’s definitely, you know, talking about how good mouse controls, which we will touch on later in the video, would work for this particular game. And somebody asked, “What about Diablo I? Any news about it coming to Switch 2 in the horizon?” And I think that is a game that will come. Uh, that would make good use of the mouse control option is how Nate replied to that. Uh, and then there there’s some talk about a Switch 2 podcast that’s sitting on a shelf right now. Uh, and then Flight Simulator PS5. And then we also have, you know, kind of some Starfield PS5 talk that seems like that’s going to come over. I think that all those games that are coming to PS5 are also ultimately headed to Nintendo Switch 2. The question is when? Uh, and again, as I just mentioned, you’re not going to see them drop all at once. They’re going to be spaced out far enough from each other to each kind of get their own moment in the spotlight. Now, one game that does look like it may not be headed to Nintendo Switch 2 at this point in time is that there is no, according to Nate the Hate, there is currently no port of Gears of War Reloaded in development for Nintendo Switch 2, among other titles people are hoping for. And there’s like this additional list um where he’s just basically calling out that some of these are in development, but not all of the ones uh listed here on screen are in development. And there’s even some that he says, “I haven’t heard anything like Forza Horizon 5, but I may just not be aware of it.” So, you know, and he specifically says, “I’d love to see Forza Horizon 5 on Switch 2.” So, there’s going to be a lot of different Microsoft ports in different points in development, and you’re not going to just know about everything internally that Microsoft might be working on. So, this lines up for me. Grounded. also a game that’s already out on Switch should be getting a Switch 2 update from the sounds of things. But there’s a lot of new games to essentially look forward to at this point in time. Even, you know, Master Chief Collection being a big one talked about. And in terms of the venue that I think is most likely to see a lot of these announced, while it could be handled at something like a Microsoft game showcase and Nintendo Switch 2 logo just shows up at the end of it on certain trailers or they announced a port uh for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of that game, knowing Nintendo and their history, I think that just about any meaningful Microsoft port that gets announced for Nintendo Switch 2 may actually just show up in a Nintendo Direct. And there might even be like a Microsoft portion of developing a stronger relationship with Microsoft and somebody like Phil Spencer himself is there on screen even potentially uh to present a lot of these games that will be headed to Nintendo’s console and maybe something of a vote of confidence like we’re excited about the power that the Switch 2 has to offer. We’re excited to make games for it. And here’s our Xbox Studio games that are all headed to Nintendo Switch 2 at various different dates. And we get some kind of Microsoft sizzle announcement reel type of trailer where here’s the ports that are headed to the console. Uh here’s when you can expect them or at least a time window like fall or early next year in 2026. Like I think that’s the kind of thing we will likely see. And maybe it will take place at something like a summertime Nintendo Direct, which could be happening in June, could be happening uh, you know, a little bit past that, but I I like second half of June personally. Give the Switch 2 a little bit of time to breathe for its initial launch games. And then past that, you just hit us with more game announcements. I like the sound of that personally. So, um, from there, we have a kind of a feature that’s going to divide some people. Of course, game chat, not the biggest deal to me. I’m glad Nintendo has onsystem chat and I actually think it makes a lot of sense for when you’re holding your Switch in handheld mode. If you want to talk to somebody easily, you can. I will probably still be using Discord for the most part when I want to, you know, chat with friends when we play games online together. But for a good majority of people who actually are looking forward to playing this console, just hooking up to a TV and talking to friends, this is going to be a great solution. Well, you can see the headline from my Nintendo news, which says, “Game chat requires a phone number linked to your Nintendo account.” And you have here just a direct screenshot of what’s highlighted where it says a mobile phone number registration required to use Game Chat. Now, this is not going to be something where you have to download an app and go through your phone to access Game Chat or anything like that, but during the registration process, that will be something that has to be done in order to allow you to take advantage of Game Chat. So, yes, there’s going to be people that aren’t happy about that. I don’t feel like Nintendo necessarily needs your phone number, but it’s one additional piece of information and it’s largely probably tied to uh, you know, trying to make things very traceable to the user because you’re probably also familiar with the fact that if you report somebody online, there is a three last 3 minutes of gameplay chat recording that Nintendo basically will have access to as it’s stored on your Nintendo Switch 2, but will only get reviewed according to Nintendo if the report feature is used. that way they have something to go look at if something nefarious was taking place during a game chat session. And obviously there’s a little bit of a a history with some bad things happening uh of course online on various different platforms but Nintendo specifically and it’s one of the reasons people thought Nintendo might not want to get back into supporting onsystem communication and things like that. So, this is going to be probably just that additional piece of information that Nintendo can pin down to say this was the user that said this and this is when it happened and here’s the evidence if something needs to go uh to you know obviously a legal route and or if they just want to try to permanently like truly permanently ban you from their servers. Uh they’re going to do anything I’m assure that is associated with your phone number is now going to be locked out from your Nintendo account. So, this one not a big deal for me personally, but I know uh there’s going to be a number of users that just do not want to give out their phone number to Nintendo. The way I feel personally nowadays is unless you want to totally opt out of everything online and social media and your smartphone entirely, it’s pretty much unavoidable that you’re being tracked at this point in time. But if you want to go off the grid entirely, do your thing, throw your devices in airplane mode, or maybe don’t have devices at all at that point and just live off the land, that is uh probably the only way to truly not be tracked in today’s modern day. But um from here I do want to talk about and shout out to Nintendo Prime. I saw him talk about this yesterday on his channel and this is how I found out about it. But Noa’s Ambition Awakening for Nintendo Switch 2 is a game that’s coming. But what is most interesting about this to me uh that you can see on screen at a certain point in the gameplay demonstration is that we actually get a look at a USB mouse being used with Nintendo Switch 2. This is very nice because there was up to this point in time no confirmation that we would actually have the ability to use anything other than the Joy-Cons for the cursor of your mouse. They also switch between the USB mouse and the JoyCons seamlessly and it seems to just work. So, it’s not one of those things that uh you could potentially, you know, have different menus you have to go through or anything like that. the same way that they showed off Metroid Prime’s gameplay in Metroid Prime 4, where you go between the analog and the mouse mode seamlessly with all the gameplay coverage we’ve seen, that same thing appears to be in in place. Uh for mouse controls at their core, uh which is obviously, you know, more options the better. I do hope we see things like wireless mice supported as well. I’m sure if a USB mouse works at all, uh, it will probably work wirelessly as well. But that mouse and keyboard combo is what we have to find out if that works. That’s not confirmed at this point in time. I would imagine it would be, especially with all of the different accessibility options we’ve seen Nintendo highlight, such as game chat supporting text to speech. I couldn’t imagine them not supporting a keyboard with that being a feature. But will it work? And can you map things to games? That’s kind of what we have to still wait and see if it’s confirmed. Not to mention, I should say the mouse support itself. Like, will that USB mouse only be supported in games that developers program that for? I think it’s going to be system level, especially considering Nintendo’s already programmed mouse controls fully into the system at the OS level. Uh, but there’s obviously some one-offs we still have to see for clearer confirmation on. But I, this is cool, and I think we’re going to get some pretty cool third-p partyy accessories at some point that are just like a Nintendo Switch 2 themed mouse and keyboard wireless combo. And I think that would be awesome just to have, you know, an additional way to play your favorite games on the Nintendo Switch 2 that make sense for mouse and keyboard controls. Uh, speaking of mouse and keyboard controls, or just mouse in this case, Stealth over at uh X also posted up that Nintendo confirmed Joy-Con 2 mouse mode will have three levels of sensitivity. Some games will offer more detailed settings for the cursor speed. Uh, and that could be a game like Metroid Prime 4 as Stealth points out. But this is of course nice. More options at the end of the day. Um, you can just do high, medium, or low directly from the console home menu. Uh, and then it does look like a game like Metroid Prime 4, I think, in its own menu system has a more customizable sensitivity uh, type of slider that you can basically go up all the way up or further down. Uh, so that’s going to be, you know, something that you would expect to see with mouse controls and something that’s nice that it’s going to be per game for select ones, but then you just kind of have a system level one easily accessible in the menu. And then the last thing we’re going to close out with very briefly, Stellar Blade developers are looking to bring the game to more platforms. And the reason this is interesting is because of course it is a PlayStation published title, but it is actually one that is already on PC. So PlayStation has a history of porting their stuff to PC, but if you say more platforms past PS5 and PC, now you are talking about Xbox Series X and S or Nintendo Switch 2. And I do think Nintendo Switch 2 makes the most sense out of that. I mean, Microsoft and PlayStation are technically getting into a more working relationship together, but I still think that there’s going to be those one-off titles that for Nintendo’s audience, we just see it brought over. LEGO Horizon, you could argue that that was some of Lego’s input, but literally the Lego Horizon developers, which are a Sony studio, just straight up said that they wanted to bring it to Nintendo Switch for the Nintendo audience. there’s probably going to be those one-offs uh for select Sony published titles where yeah, we know that this is going to reach a broader audience and sell better if we bring it to Nintendo’s console. And that just makes sense for us from a business perspective. So, kind of a slow death of console exclusives appearing before us. Of course, outside of Nintendo, they will probably go down till their last day as a corporation with all their exclusive IP tied to only their platforms outside of mobile cuz they’ve already, you know, tapped into that. I don’t think we’re seeing Nintendo PC ports anytime soon, though. Uh, but you get the idea. Uh, we might have some pretty cool games to look forward to. I played about 15 hours or so of Stellar Blade myself on PS5. Great game, awesome visuals. Just ended up playing other stuff and never went back to finish it. But really cool action adventure RPG and it is one that I’d be willing to check out on the Switch 2 if we do end up seeing that confirmed down the line. But let me know in the comments down below what you make of all the different stories we talked about today. What if any Microsoft titles that were on the list or that were not on the list do you want to see make it to Switch to most? And do you think that we will see some of those games show up at something like a future Nintendo Direct? What do you think about the game chat feature requiring a phone number to verify? Does that bother you or not so much? Mouse controls being supported from a USB mouse? Is that cool and good news to you? And what do you think about the various customizations? And have you seen anything about Stellar Blade? And would you potentially pick it up on Switch 2 if we do see that come to fruition?
