Roblox is releasing a brand new license manager which will change gaming and even clothing collaborations on Roblox forever. The license manager will be a new way for Roblox games or clothing designers to partner with intellectual properties like games outside of Roblox entertainment, retail stores, clothing brands, etc. Basically how it works is that these intellectual properties will be available on the license catalog from owners of these intellectual properties and developers can buy access to those licenses with certain terms or revenue shares involved. Then the game or clothing designers can use that intellectual property inside Roblox games or merchandise. Let’s take Nike for example. Nike might have a license on the catalog. Game developers or clothing designers can then pay Nike to use Nike in their Roblox games, including their logo, their slogan, even their clothing. There will be terms that Nike will enforce, like maybe Nike wants 40% of all revenue from that specific Roblox game or clothing item. And they will have specific terms like maybe no other clothing brands are allowed in the game, or maybe the game mustn’t have too much violence, etc., etc. That’s just a basic example to help you understand the concept of this new Roblox license manager that will be coming very soon to Two blocks.
