[Music] wow Capcom first you make us wait two years with nothing and I mean nothing to talk about then you drop that incredible reveal trailer that is littered with things to talk about and now now you’re planning to drop some more juicy bits of goodness for us in 2 days from now holy [ __ ] when the hype drink gets going it doesn’t stop now does it Capcom what up nerds this is Ruben with Nerbased Games with a really quick video to talk about some major news or rumors or whatever you want to call it at this point regarding Resident Evil 9 also want to give a quick shout out to Podcast Now by the way because before I actually saw this tweet I did see him post a video about this topic so you know show the dude some love for covering it before I did the link to his video will be in the description anyway before we get started though I think it’s important that we talk about the man the myth Dusk Gollum i’m sure if you’re watching this video right now you have heard this name multiple times over the past two years and honestly the guy has been through the ringer he’s been slandered and torn apart for the things that he’s gotten wrong and he’s also received the praise for getting some things right when it comes to Resident Evil leaks hell I’ll even go as far as saying that I personally went after the dude a few different times in previous videos of mine in which I called him a fraud or that his sources were probably wrong but I have no problem admitting to things when I’m proven wrong and I do believe Summer Gamefest proved that Skullum does have some inside information first off I know the trailer didn’t reveal everything that Descllum has been leaking specifically we didn’t see Lyon as the main character like Descalum has been claiming for a few years now and we also didn’t see an island inspired by Singapore which is something else that Dus has been talking about for a while however what we did see was almost everything else we heard from him we heard that there was another playable protagonist that would probably be a new character we heard that the name of the game would feature the number nine in some way but not in Roman numerals like we saw with Resident Evil 7 and Village hell even right before RE9 was officially revealed a whole 10 minutes before the reveal the dude even name dropped the title of RE9 Brequam clearly Dus has inside information and at this point despite not seeing everything he’s covered in trailer so far I’m definitely more inclined to listen to the things that he says even the Leon thing is probably true despite us not seeing him in the trailer i mean we’re revisiting Raccoon City where Leon began his whole journey in Resident Evil you really think that Capcom is going to send us back there without their golden boy absolutely not in fact Dusk Golum has been doubling down on the fact that Leyon is the main character and that it’s his story even after what we saw in the trailer and at this point I’m inclined to believe almost everything Dust says at this point albeit we still need to take these rumors and leaks with a grain of salt anyway why am I bringing him up today well we had some more information knowledge dropped on us regarding when we could see Resident Evil 9 in a tweet Descum says “There’s a Resident Evil Reququum news drop happening in a couple days from now so people wanting to know a bit more won’t have to wait long.” He continues by replying to another tweet that it will also be a couple days from Friday the 13th and then responds that this is official news not a rumor with that being said fans have begun to assume that Resident Evil 9 will be revealing some information or a new trailer this Wednesday now people have started to talk about what exactly could this information be and one reply on what D was mentioning revealed that Capcom could have held a closed door preview over the weekend granted I personally don’t know anything about this individual but I do want to note that he did mention that there’s an embargo that apparently lives at 11:00 a.m eastern on the 11th which is this Wednesday anyway what could this mean for Resident Evil 9 well a few things the first thing I want to point out is that Capcom has officially announced that Gamescom which is in August will feature a playable demo to the public for Resident Evil 9 i covered this in a previous video of mine but I do want to mention that because of this I assume that we definitely see some gameplay shown off before Gamescom and with no major events scheduled between now and Gamescom I’m figuring that Capcom would release gameplay footage specifically of the demo that’ll be available at Gamescom sometime soon in a random trailer drop or at a Capcom presentation now with the news that does mention I’m glad to believe that this trailer will in fact drop this Wednesday which again I believe to be in the form of a gameplay trailer featuring mostly sequences seen in the public demo available at Gamescom later in August i also believe that this is when Capcom might announce a collector’s edition and all of the other details regarding pre-orders for Resident Evil 9 following the trailer finally I do see people talking about the fact that we could get a demo on Wednesday now personally and I want to say that this is just mere speculation on my part but I don’t think we’ll get a demo until late this year or early next year i’m saying this because of how the Chainsaw demo was handled in Resident Evil 4 remake let’s not forget that that demo was first available to the public at specific events and showcases before it eventually released to everybody to download on March 9th 2023 about two weeks before the game came out so anybody that’s hoping for a demo this early my money is on it not happening but again just speculation anyway so to recap Dusk Gollum says that we’re getting R9 news in a couple of days other comments claim that there’s an embargo that will lift for something regarding R9 this Wednesday at 11:00 a.m eastern i personally think it’ll be gameplay footage and an announcement relating to pre-orders and the collector’s edition and I don’t
