Well, folks, we have a bevy of Nintendo Switch 2 news to bring to you today. And we’re actually going to end the video going over all the updated list on the currently rumored games for Nintendo Switch 2. But setting aside that stuff, we actually have to go over a bunch of profile icons today Nintendo dropped for Switch 2, including like 101 or something like that, brand new ones exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. So, that’s pretty cool. Uh, we have some stuff to go over with some game updates as well. some future big third-p partyy games confirmed is coming and more. My gosh, I get really, really excited talking about Nintendo Switch 2 every single day. And I’m extra excited today for reasons we’ll get into at the end of the video. Uh, but before I go any Nintendo Switch, but I got something for you for Nintendo Switch 2 as well. You see, we’re giving away two Nintendo Switch twos with the Mario Kart World bundle right now. To enter, all you got to do is go down to the pin comment or the description, click on the link, and enter. You just need an email to enter. It’s absolutely free. There’s some additional entries you can get as well if you like. Uh, but that’s all that’s required. We’ll contact the winner about 10 days before the re release, I was going to say reveal, the release of Nintendo Switch 2. Uh, and we’ll get that all confirmed up and we’ll announce the winners once everything’s confirmed. All right, let’s go ahead and dive into the first story. Let’s get into the official stuff. This comes from the Nintendo Today app, but we’re going to use Oatmeal Dome because he uploaded the video here saying the console will have 258 default profile icons, nearly double that of the Switch One. I wouldn’t say nearly double. 147 on Switch One. This adds 111 new, so not exactly double, but you know, I get it. As we go through here, you can see get a good look at some of these profile icons. Obviously, we know about some of the ones that have been updated for the platform, but as he goes down here, you’re just going to see more and more and more. And honestly, what’s really cool about the profile icons is just this is how we get to customize things a little bit, right? Getting this ability to customize our profile icons just lets your friends yourself add a little personality uh to just managing your business cuz these profile icons you you see them on your friends list, you see them when you play with people online. So, honestly, I feel like this is just a great thing that Nintendo’s doing. They don’t have to do this. They could have just kept the profile icons from Switch One and they did with some updates, but uh they’ve also added a whole bunch of new ones. So, I’m really happy to see a bunch of new ones get added in. You can still use your Mi as well as you saw there. So, uh pretty good stuff. I in general am really excited that Nintendo’s doing this. And you know what? Give us more things to customize our experience. How about themes, Nintendo? I know uh sometimes you seem to be allergic to those. Uh, next up we have a new creator’s voice uh that released on Nintendo’s channel today. And I got to say, uh, these creators voice videos are great. We’re hearing directly from developers about their games coming to Switch 2. And this one deals with Final Fantasy 7 integrate. And a couple interesting tidbits come up throughout the video. So, as we go over here, look at YouTube. We’re just going to hit play here and talk about this. Look, Final Fantasy 7 Integrate coming over is a big deal because it previously was only on PlayStation systems and PC. Obviously, it’s coming to Xbox as well. But here’s the deal. Uh, we obviously know this is a trilogy. It’s a remake or reimagining as some like to say of Final Fantasy 7. And it was a really, really big deal that this game is coming over. But we we didn’t know as if more of the series was coming over. And multiple times throughout this video, they mentioned that the Final Fantasy 7 remake series is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. That infers Rebirth is coming. And yes, the yet to be announced third and final chapter of this. So, that’s really exciting. Whether or not that third chapter’s day and date, who knows? We don’t know if there’s like contracts with PlayStation still that enable it to be on PlayStation first or if, you know, that wasn’t a real contract and this was just something they were doing cuz it originally was a PlayStation game. Beats the hell out of me. But, I’m really excited to see the future here of Final Fantasy 7 on Nintendo Switch 2. They also say something really interesting in here. They note that they’re trying to create a really close association of Final Fantasy and Nintendo, and they’re trying to do that here in 2025, obviously starting with Final Fantasy 7 integrated. This to me does mean that, yeah, I I do expect we’ll get Final Fantasy 16 ported at some point, but I do think this also means Final Fantasy 17, whenever that does come, will be day and date on Switch 2. Again, that still could be years away. But I do expect that Square Enix is really, really trying to create that association. And uh because of that, we should now be going in with that expectation of having Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 17 and all future Final Fantasy 7 games or Final Fantasy games in general on Nintendo Switch 2. I think Square Enix is probably going allin, just let’s just say allin period on Switch 2. I think for them makes a lot of sense. Uh their financials last year didn’t go the way they wanted. But you know whose financials are going the way they want? How about Nintendo? Now look, we talked about how the stock hit record levels uh earlier this week, but how about their overall business value? Well, Nintendo, who was a top 10 company in Japan at number 10, has now risen to number seven. Nintendo is the number seven biggest company in Japan, now being valued for the first time ever at over a hundred billion dollar. and they are not that far behind behind the number six spot, the unique low brand. Uh the fast retailing is the name of the company. They very well by the time Switch 2 comes out could actually jump to number six. And I would even say number five isn’t that far out of uh out of balance here either with Kens. They could end up being a top five overall valued company in Japan. And what I one thing I always find crazy about this is Nintendo is primarily a video game company. They have their retail stuff, of course, that’s built around their video games. They have their movies, of course, that are built around their video games. And yet, even though they don’t have the expanded stuff and the giant movie studios, heck, they’re working with Sony on the Zelda movie, they are like twothirds of the way there to the total value of Sony as a company. That is that is insane. Uh, and if you look at the the price, you’ll see Nintendo’s stock price is significantly higher than Sony’s as well. So, I I look, again, this is not me trying to create any wars here. This is just me noting how crazy it is that Sony is this massive multiaceted company that makes cameras, TVs. They used to make computers, they sold that off. Uh, obviously, they have manufacturing plants where they’re making microchips and stuff for people. Uh, they’re massively involved obviously in the video game sector. And yet, despite that, Nintendo basically building everything around their video game business, even with the expanded like theme parks and stuff, that’s all based on their video games. Nintendo 100 billion. I don’t know if they’re ever going to catch up to Sony, but that is that is just impressive. Uh, and again, uh, doesn’t mean a whole lot to anyone who’s not an investor, I suppose, but I do think it’s kind of cool. You know what I also think is kind of cool? How about the fact that there’s actually some, at least for now, temporary exclusive content coming to the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. Uh, including new classes. And again, I think it’s temporary. These will probably get patched into other versions of the game. But at launch, it’s going to be exclusive on Switch 2, at least according to the developers. So, we go over here to Famitsu. We’re using a Google Translate here. says, “New characters, Knight of Idis and Heavy Knight will be added to the Switch 2 version of Elder Ring Tarnished Edition announced at a From Software event.” So, at the From Software games event in spring 2025, held in Tokyo on May 6th, From Software revealed that two new characters, Knights of Ides and Heavy Knight, will be added to Elder Ring Tarnish Edition, which is scheduled to be released on the in 2025 on the Nintendo Switch 2. Scroll down here, it says uh the players will be able to change the appearance of their spirit house. There are three new looks and four new pieces of armor, weapons, and combat techniques will also be added. The characteristics of the Knights of Eides and the Heavy Knights will be added along with the addition of armor. Although the performance of these new characters have not been revealed, this will increase the options available to players. The additional elements in the Tarnished Edition are also planned to release for other platforms as the Tarnished Pack. So, as I said, it’s going to come to everything else, but it’s literally included with the only version of Elden Ring that exists on Nintendo Switch 2. Uh, it’s also important to note that Tarnished Edition does include the DLC. So, this is the full experience. There is at the time that this launches, there is no content in Elder Ring that you won’t have, just included in that Tarnished Edition. Again, no release date yet. No. Uh, we we know it’s a game key card, I believe, but besides that, we don’t really know a whole lot about Elder Ring. uh other than it’s coming and it looks amazing. And uh speaking speaking of game key cards, we have a developer that’s blaming nostalgia for something related to the game key cards, which I find a little interesting since nostalgia for Nintendo. Well, Nintendo’s games are not on game key cards. But let’s go take a look at this. Video Game Chronicle has a article saying that Nintendo is going to get away with game key cards due to nostalgia. This comes from a third party developer. So, this is according to Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed 3, and Revenge of Savage Planet director Alex Hutchinson, who has given his opinion on the Switch 2’s new game key card system, under which some games will require a download rather than being playable from the cartridge itself. He says, “I hate it,” says Hutchinson in an interview with Video Gamer. “I think it’s sort of lame. I don’t know. I feel like it’s getting away or losing some of what made the business special. trading Game Boy cartridges at school or, you know, DS for the modern audience. There’s something nice about that, which the DS came out in 2004. Um, that’s still trading cartridges in school. I don’t know if he realizes that people born in 2004 are old enough to legally drink. So, uh, maybe aging himself a bit there. Hey, I’m old, too. I get it. Uh, as we go here, it’s funny that Nintendo is going to get away with it. Hutchinson continued, “It just shows you the power of nostalgia in our business that the way they will beat up Microsoft versus Nintendo. It’s just not the same, especially in Europe. It’s like, oh, Nintendo’s doing it all right. We’re not going to say much.” Hutchinson’s latest game, it goes into this and it talks about what game key cards are. Uh, what’s really interesting about this is Nintendo is absolutely gotten beat up for game key cards. Uh, if you mean they’re going to get away with it in terms of, well, yeah, they’re not going to go away, guess what? These exact same aspects exist on PlayStation and Xbox. And yeah, Xbox was beat up for it and they didn’t go away. They’re still here. Xbox got away with it. Sony got away with it. Nintendo is going to get away with it. This all digital future is coming whether we wanted to or not. And I hate game key cards. I think they’re stupid. I think you shouldn’t have a physical cartridge of anything unless it’s a full physical game. I do get that there’s a convenience of being able to resell a digital copy and that’s awesome, but also stupid. stupid. I just I hate it. I hate it. There’s nothing I like about it. But in the end, uh I know the all digital future is coming. I don’t think you can really yell at Nintendo as much about this. Again, this stuff already exists on other platforms where a majority of the game is downloaded and not on the disc. This is not a new concept. So, uh yeah, and Nintendo’s gotten a lot of backlash for it. To act like Nintendo hasn’t got much backlash for it to me means maybe you’re not paying too much attention. Now, we’re going to end by updating all the rumored games here uh that we have going on with Switch 2. We’ll put a link down to this article uh because it also has all the confirmed games, but we’re gonna start here with the rumored Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It says there’s a lot of thirdparty games that are being considered or will become to Switch 2. One title that was there within the launch window comes from Ubisoft and it’s going to be Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Uh this comes from Nate the Hate. So, Nate the Hate putting out there. Uh Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Come down here. We have Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Uh to my understanding, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of those in development ports. It just won’t be ready for launch. probably won’t be ready for the launch window either. Uh but that’s according to Nate the hate. So that would mean probably coming next year. Uh then obviously Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth which again we just kind of saw today uh that they confirmed that this is basically coming. Again that was Nate the Hate. Uh we have the Halo Master Chief Collection as well rumored by Nate the Hate. A lot of Microsoft games on Switch to PS5 moving forward. But Flight Simulator and Halo Master Chief Collection are two games I’ve heard that should be making their way this year. So again, not announced yet. Could get announced this summer. Obviously, Flight Simulator was part of that rumor. Uh, Hi-Fi Rush is rumored by Nathan Hate as well. Microsoft is going to be a very big supporter of Switch when it when it does come out, and they will be porting and patching the current Switch lineup. So, games like Grounded, Pentam, and the Ary games will find their way to Switch to be patched with 4K support. And I won’t be surprised if you see Sea of Thieves and maybe Hi-Fi Rush. Again, all from Nate the Hate. So, that gives you the AI games as well in there. Uh, the Sea of Thieves. Uh, this one is actually comes from Ubisoft’s CEO originally. Mario Plus Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope coming to Switch 2. So, we had already released Mario Rabbit’s game on Switch. So, by doing another one, we had two similar experiences on one machine. On Nintendo, games like this never die. There are 25 Mario games on Switch. Nintendo has advised that it’s better to do one iteration on each machine. We were a bit too early. We should have waited for the next console because you can play a great game and we think it’ll last for 10 years. We’ll update it for the new machine that will come in the future. So that’s literally from Yeemont, the Ubisoft CEO. So doesn’t get much more straightforward than that. But then Nate the Hate added to it that there was also consideration doing a Mario Plus Rabbits collection as a single release on the system. So we’ll see what happens there. Uh new 3D Mario game. This has been, you know, rumored for a while. I heard stuff like the new 3D Mario game. Actually goes back to Andy Robinson from Video Game Chronicle who talked about a 3D Mario game all the way back in 2023. Uh, we obviously have Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater rumored out there from Nate the Hate. So, that’s pretty cool there. Uh, next up we have Rainbow Six Siege. Also rumored from Nate the Hate. You can tell a lot of this is Nate the Hate stuff, but he’s one of the most reliable insiders that we have. U, The Division as well was part of this. So, you saw The Division in Rainbow Six Siege. Uh, coming down here, we see Starfield. This one’s actually rumored by Exodus via Insider Gaming about Starfield coming to Switch 2. Uh, same thing here with Fallout 4. Again, from Exodus via Insider Gaming. Uh, next up we have Diablo I as well. Rumored from Exus via Insider Gaming. There’s probably some other ones out there. Those are the really, really big ones. I just wanted to update you guys on and let you know, hey, we should probably expect these coming at some point. Anyways, folks, I am the Robbo Jans from Nintendo Prime. It’s been a hell of a time. I gotta I got to get going. We got to get this video edited. I got to get this this shindig out the door. I got some traveling to do today. got some flights to catch early tomorrow morning.
