Well, folks, we got a bunch of Nintendo Switch 2 news to go over, including some details on a supposedly new leaked game coming to Nintendo Switch 2. We’ll get into that. Uh, we have some stuff with pre-orders and all that, but more than that, we get to get into some game chat details and camera functions and new Mario Kart World footage and oh man, pretty packed episode. So, before we dive in, I want to remind you that we are giving away two Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundles. You can enter through the link down in the pinned comment or in the description. We’ll be drawing a winner here in a few days. That being said, let’s go ahead and dive right into our first story over here at Universal Nintendo. You see, Nintendo Switch 2 game chat details for camera field of view settings. This is kind of interesting. Uh three ways to show off to your colleagues during video chat sessions will be made available. So, uh Nintendo today released more news related to the Switch 2 through its Nintendo Today app. The focus this time around is the settings for the Switch 2 camera’s field of view that will be made available for game chat during sessions. You can get the the the details here. So, camera, field of view with the Nintendo Switch 2 camera or another compatible USBC camera. Players will be able to see each other while using game chat. All right. Choose from three video settings with standard view. The camera feed will be shown as is, including your background, while no background will remove your background, so only you are visible. and face only will show your face inside a circle. So you got this going on, this going on, that going on. Uh this is one someone not using the AI background removal. All right, you got the no background with the background, etc., etc., etc. Only with the face, you know, you just have your little icon on the screen circle down there. They’re just showing the different ways uh that all of this functions. So again, pretty standard. Uh, I do like that. Uh, what the I I like the the features in general of what they’re doing here. But you know what I like more than that? Oh, I like brand new Mario Kart World footage. Let’s go over here to X here. We got Stealth’s post. Uh, let me full screen this. Rewind it. Get the audio unmuted. And let’s play this bad boy. I don’t want you. All right. So, I happen to think that that’s actually pretty cool. Um, just more P switch quests. We’re seeing some variation here. Hopefully, there’s even more variety to come. Uh, but we also have a little bit more Mario Kart Wall footage because we have this binocular stuff going on. So, we’re gonna go ahead and uh show you the new binocular things going on here. Um, let’s full screen it and hit play. All righty then. So, that is obviously pretty cool. And look, honestly, the more and more we see of Mario Kart World, the more excited I am for it coming out. But, you know what matters the most when things come out and come to release? The ability to buy it. And we’ve talked about obviously Walmart, Target, Best Buy, uh, and GameStop, but one uh, retailer we haven’t really talked much about is Costco, who will have units available on day one. Here’s some ways in which they will be selling them. So, Costco’s switch to pricing and options detailed. These prices deserve five big booms. Uh, as we come down here, it says various retailers opened their Switch to pre-orders weeks ago, and customers were quick to gobble them up. Some retailers like Target and GameStop will still have units available for walk-in customers, but it’s still going to be tough to snag a purchase. That’s why it’s important to remember other options, and Costco appears to be a great one. We heard recently that Costco would have switched two units day one, and that is indeed the case. The retailer didn’t offer pre-orders, but you should be able to walk into your nearest Costco on June 5th and at least have a chance at picking up a Switch 2. Even better, you’ll be getting a decent deal, too. So, they got pricing for Switch 2 and some other items has been revealed for Costco. And if you’re hoping to save a penny or two, you’re in a little bit of luck. So, here’s the pricing approach from Costco. All right, so you can get the Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle with 12 months of NSO expansion for $524.99. You can get a Pro Controller 2, the second one, for $74.99. Um, looks like it’s not $69.99 as listed on the website previously, so $74.99. Uh, and then obviously Donkey Kong Bonanza for $62.99. No matter how you cut it, everything Costco is offering comes in at a slightly lower value than other retailers. While the Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle with the one year of Switch Online might look more pricey, keep in mind you’re getting the expansion pack with that. So, you’re saving roughly $25 altogether. Again, you’ll have to get upright and early and be willing to line up at your local Costco in hopes of grabbing some of these options. But if you’re hard up for Switch 2, going this route should be pretty doable. So yeah, uh that’s just nice to see more and more options on day one. Now, we have a few other stories I want to get to here. Uh one of these is kind of negative here. Um Nintendo Switch 2 owners in Taiwan in Southeast Asia won’t get free Game Chat. So remember how game chat is supposed to be free till March? Well, not if you’re there. So, uh, two months ago, Nintendo announced a special offer in major regions where Switch 2 owners can enjoy Game Chat for free, even without a Nintendo Switch Online membership until March 31st, 2026. This promotion, however, doesn’t seem to apply to Taiwan and Southeast Asia. On the official Nintendo Hong Kong website for GameChat, it is stated that Gamech can be enjoyed for free by all users until March 31st, 2026, after which a Nintendo Switch online membership would be required. On the other hand, the same page for Taiwan states that a Nintendo Switch online membership is required to use Game Chat and the Taiwanese Nintendo eShop will be open in 2025 with the launch of timing to be announced at a later date. There’s no mention of a free game chat promotion. Oh man, that’s just really really unfortunate that that is the route that they decided to go in. Um I I don’t like when these things happen. I I’d rather these offers be available worldwide. Not sure if there’s any particular legal tape or or something with like offering free trials to things. There’s a lot of different legalities in different countries, but what are you going to do? Now, for this story, we’re going to take a look at the Nintendo Switch 2 packaging and stuff cuz I I like comparing these things. So, you see how it’s shorter than the OLED boxes. Here’s how Nintendo Switch 2 console packaging compares to the Switch OLED model. Uh, this comes from Buy Games 2, a retailer based in Hong Kong, has provided a first look at these samples. So, you can see it is shorter than the Switch OLED box. Uh, you can see all the accessories as well. Uh, just kind of sitting there. I don’t have all of these. Um, I have a lot of the accessories, but I don’t have I didn’t get extra Joy-Con. I didn’t buy a separate charging brick because there’s one that comes with the system. Um, I obviously didn’t buy an extra set of uh the rails because again, it comes with it. But I didn’t buy the wheels either, but I bought uh the Pro Controller, the system with the Mario Kart bundle, uh the camera, and then the official carrying case back here. I didn’t I didn’t pick up any of the rest of that stuff. Anyways, uh that doesn’t really matter. I just I love looking at this stuff, and it is interesting how much shorter it is. Uh you know, hey, Nintendo’s going to Nintendo. And uh part of that includes the amount of units they’re going to provide to Japan. So Nintendo Switch 2 day one shipment in Japan estimated to be over 1.2 million units. So this comes from a consolidated survey result from the first two my Nintendo store Switch 2 pre-order lotteryies as well as other pre-order lotteryies organized by other Japanese retailers have given us a better understanding of the stock situation in Japan. According to survey results for the second my Nintendo store pre-order lottery, 6.6% 6% of those who applied for the Japanese language Mario Kart World set were selected to purchase it, followed by 3.3% for the Japanese language standalone system and 62.3% for the multilanguage system. Overall, the success rate overall the success rates are lower than what we seen in the first lottery with the exception of the multil- language system. When compared and extrapolated the results from the second My Nintendo Sword pre-order lottery, it was revealed that 281,426 systems were allocated to it. That’s about 54% of the five 517,987 systems allocated to the first pre-order lottery. That means that 799,413 units have been allocated to both my Nintendo storeies so far. As for the Japanese retailers such as Amazon Japan, Yodavashi Camera, it is estimated that 428,257 sets have been allocated to them. Combining the estimated my Nintendo store and Japanese retail allocations, the day one shipment in Japan is expected to be 1.2 million. So 1,227,670 units, which will make it one of the biggest console launches in Japan history. Uh, keep in mind that pre-orders from the first two my Nintendo store pre-order lotteryies as well as the current Japanese retail lotteryies are expected to be delivered at launch on June 5th. The survey results are not indicative of the actual number of units allocated to Japan. It’s just obviously a way to get a good estimate. So 1.2 million in Japan alone would just be absolutely insane. It might even be a launch record. We’ll have to see if that holds up. Now we got to get to our last story. Uh, this is a leak supposedly call it a rumor. It’s coming from Nash Weedle uh about Lies of P, a game I really did enjoy on Xbox. Uh so let’s translate this post here. It says uh Leak Express, I can confirm that Lies of P port for Switch 2 is in the works. Their announcement seems like it could be made in June, but it depends on quote unquote some factors in the port’s development as they want to reveal a release date. And then as you come down, you see Necro Philippia Lima from Universal Nintendo chimes in and he says, “I can corroborate this. They just didn’t mention the fact they wanted it for June, like revealed in June. But the port of Nintendo’s new platform is something I’m excited about.” So we have multiple uh, you know, I don’t know if you want to call them insiders, whatever we want to call them, people that seem to be in the know and have been right in the past. Uh, multiple of them corroborating the story. Look, Liza P is a fantastic game. I am absolutely not opposed to it appearing on Switch 2. I would love for that to be the case. And honestly, I played it on Xbox Series X through Game Pass and I I loved it. So, look, any like brand new or even older but really really good AAA game that wants to make its way on over to Switch 2, come on in. The water feels fine over here. Just let’s all just be together, right? Nintendo and third parties as one. I know. And I’m going to pretend it’s the Super Nintendo days again. All right, folks. That being said, I am Nathaniel Jance from Nintendo Prime. Uh hope you guys decide to join us live tonight. We have a special live stream tonight. Uh we got to have player essence going on there. We’re also going to have uh maybe my biggest hater uh coming on to have a little debate. It’s going to be a fun one. It’s not going to take up the whole stream, but the just the beginning portion uh and then we’ll go on to our normal Q&A stuff. But all right, guys. Hope to see you there. That should be a fun one. Otherwise, I will catch you guys in a video tomorrow.
