okay so clearly when we talk about leaks and rumors on the channel you can’t set all your expectations on the world to all of these projects ultimately coming to fruition in the exact way that they were communicated to us but I just got a lot more excited about a number of different Nintendo Switch 2 game leaks because we are officially in the start of a new generation and there is one particular source that we will be deep diving the track record of in recent months because as I was once more skeptical of this source as time has gone on and a lot of the stuff that they said about the Nintendo Switch 2 generation has now started to come to pass it has made me look that much deeper into what they’ve said in the past in terms of games to come from here and while no leaker has a 100% track record and you shouldn’t take all of this as concrete fact I do believe there’s reason to now safely set some expectations in terms of potential games we could see Nintendo start to promote and reveal in the upcoming months and weeks because uh well we’re in June so there’s a lot of reason to believe we’re actually around the corner from a Nintendo Direct presentation and some of these projects could be there some of these could be revealed further on down the line but to me in light of some recent announcements that would be in the category of just too hard to predict and guess as a general blanket statement and that’s continued to happen with this individual I think this warrants a full deep dive so we’re going to get on the same page with all these details but before we do make sure you like subscribe and turn on your bell notification to join some rotation if you’re new here and the source we are referencing over from X is none other than Nash Weedle and you guys probably remember this source if you’ve been around on the channel for a while i’ve always been very cautious to say h what they’re saying could come to pass it may not and as time has gone on it seems to me that they’ve become far more reliable just to highlight a few quick ones a very hard to predict hard to guess thing that I don’t think anybody was saying other than Nash Weedle before it happened when he said “I’ll tell you what’s happening on the dark side of the internet it’s been said for days that the new 3D Mario won’t be coming this year but Donkey Kong will be the star i can’t tell you about Mario 3D but I’ve already told you about Donkey Kong and I’m looking forward to seeing it that was on March 29th 2025 before the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct where we got the reveal of Donkey Kong Bonanza and we have yet to see any new Mario of course now we also had recently and this is a big one besides a couple that we’ll mention from the past uh there are pending announcements that we will see some of these exclusively on the Nintendo Today app one surprise game launching for this year for Switch 2 one announcement of a major game for 2026 for Switch 2 and two Switch game announcements one for 2025 do you already use the app and we are of course referencing Nintendo Today in this post by Nash Weedle so this is interesting because you might be familiar with the fact that Splatoon Raiders was just announced on the Nintendo Today app and that was clearly well after the April 19th date that Nash Weedle put up this post teasing something we don’t know if Splatoon Raiders will be a game for this year but due to the fact that it’s a spin-off project it does seem likely that we could see it launch within 2025 which would put probably that surprise game that Nash mentioned checked off the list and he did retweet this pretty much insinuating that one of the games he was teasing here was indeed revealed and that would be Splatoon Raiders so we will deep dive what one major 2026 Switch 2 game might be and two Switch game announcements for 2025 because I actually have a couple ideas on that but besides that in recent memory we’ve also seen them tease an Elder Ring port that we now know to expect officially a definitive edition as they teased it as we have seen that come to fruition as an official announcement while Assassin’s Creed Shadows is something that they have teased and it hasn’t been officially announced we actually have an official Peggy rating that was spotted for that game for Nintendo Switch 2 seeming like it is an impending announcement they referenced the fact that a free upgrade would be available for No Man’s Sky on the Nintendo Switch 2 whereas other games would have to pay that is the example they were given we’ve now seen multiple different games hit on the Nintendo Switch 2 generation where some of them are paid upgrades other ones are free upgrades and No Man’s Sky specifically being a free upgrade for the Switch 2 version has been confirmed now and that goes besides all of the things we’ve seen in the past like Mario and Luigi Brotherhip before it was announced Metroid Dread the exact name and timing uh before it was confirmed so you get the idea the track record is looking pretty good for this individual at this point in time and I’m not going to say that everything they have said has come to fruition yet because it certainly hasn’t and there’s probably been some misses here and there but in general I am liking the chances of Nash Weedle’s information checking out more than I did before okay with that in mind we now have one of the first big games that would have just gotten a lot more exciting if confirmed and that is this back from 2023 the end of the year in 2023 so League Express would you like to see our mustachioed hero visit worlds from other Nintendo sagas in the next 3D Mario well it seems that Nintendo has already experimented with this and it could become a reality at some point can you imagine Mario traveling through Hyrule or piloting an Arwing and now this would clearly be a crazy direction to see the next 3D Mario go and I would like to say because of the timing of this tweet who knows if this is a finalized idea that does make it into the next Mario game but could you imagine a Super Mario Universe game where you know you’re going beyond Galaxy and Mario is actually traversing universes crossing paths with Nintendo’s broader franchises over the course of their history uh and who knows if this could kind of play into where they’re headed with the broader scale of their movie plans because Nintendo you could argue could be creating kind of their own cinematic universe could that also tie into kind of setting the groundwork for this maybe the tease at the end of the next Mario Bros movie and they’re promoting similar crossover stuff in the next big 3D Mario i find that to be very interesting if we had some kind of Zelda cameo or you know Mario showing up in Zelda’s world for world I guess I would say like you know imagine I don’t think it would just be one stage or maybe it is one open giant connected area where somehow Mario goes to Hyrule and helping Link and Zelda with whatever they’re dealing with at the time is actually the task at hand until you’re sucked into another portal and all of the sudden you are in Star Fox’s universe flying around in Rwing taking out Andros and then next thing you’re into DK’s world and it actually looks exactly like Bonanza because the 3D Mario team might have in indeed been involved in the development of Bonanza there could be a lot of different collaborations that you would think of kirby being a perfect fit if he goes into the Forgotten Land and Splatoon or Animal Crossing like Nintendo can do what they want with the IP that they own this might not become a finalized idea but when you consider that we’ve been waiting for nearly 8 years for the next 3D Mario game and we don’t even know if it’s going to come out this year making it longer than an 8-year wait I’m pretty sure Nintendo’s cooking up something massive that they have not done with the franchise before and that seemed like a really cool idea to me now there is this next post uh that teases what the next Pikmin game may be where he says “Leak Express the next Pikmin game will be a spin-off it will break away from the series with a new type of gameplay it’s also rumored to be changing its art style it will be launched in the next fiscal year numbered titles will continue with classic gameplay and this was on July 30th 2024 considering that we’ve already seen one spin-off confirmed in the Splatoon franchise uh I do think spin-offs are definitely on the table for some of Nintendo’s other franchises and Pikmin might be one of them in terms of what type of gameplay it might be uh that is going to be interesting because it’s just not going to be Pikmin according to him the numbered titles will indeed continue to persist but this would be something entirely different and potentially with a new type of art style i have not personally gone through the Pikmin franchise myself so I don’t know what I even want to see from a project like this but I do think it would definitely be an interesting thing to see Pikmin go in a different direction than we’ve seen it go so far next up we have League Express the next Animal Crossing is in development and will be an ultimate version game concepts: move around by controlling vehicles big city with skyscrapers adventure missions puzzles and mini games more collaborative multiplayer date 2026 along with the series okay so 2026 for Animal Crossing actually seems like it could be likely i would also like to state just due to the fact that some of these tweets are further back than others and I have also bought into the idea uh that maybe Switch 2 was supposed to be here earlier once upon a time than it actually made it to market i do wonder if some of these are a year back but let’s just say 2026 early 2027 i do think that that’s just the logical time frame i don’t think Nintendo waits that much longer to bring over the next Animal Crossing especially considering that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is legitimately the second most popular Nintendo Switch game over 40 plus million units sold second only to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe if that tells you anything the next one will be something of an ultimate in my opinion uh and I think that that’s just a no-brainer and you know if they go in the direction of more seamless multiplayer taking advantage of all of the Switch 2 functions like game chat I mean I think this is obviously going to be a smash hit success when it drops on the platform this next one feels weird to talk about already but you can see leak express those of you who follow me already know that I mentioned that Metroid Prime 5 is being developed at the same time as 4 it looks like it will feature a vertical exploration gameplay approach with altered gravity mechanics it will obviously be exclusive to Switch 2 and will be released in 2027 again timelinewise 2027 feels fast considering we don’t even have Metroid Prime 4 launched yet that said Nintendo is known to finish games and literally leave them sitting there until they are ready to release them and if there was a broader plan to actually greenlight an entire other trilogy of games they may have wanted to hold back Prime 4 until they could get comfortably into the development of Prime 5 and then actually have them more of a quick turnaround release a couple years from each other whereas if we get Metroid Prime 4 the end of this year the end of 2027 we’re already ready to for Prime 5 and then they’ve had a few years to develop Prime 6 at that point and they close out yet another Prime trilogy this is a possibility it’s kind of crazy to even conceptualize or think about the next Metroid Prime when we haven’t gotten to play four after all these years but according to Nash Weedle it’s well into development and apparently is going to feature more verticality than what we should expect in the Prime 4 gameplay that said I’m a sucker for anything Metroid so I would be picking that up absolutely um but when I tell you one other game that he has tweeted out kind of throws a wrench in that in terms of the release timeline and I do think that this is where some things can be off uh he has also said I love reviving old tweets the truth is that in the time of 2020 I had a lot of data that the confirmation came a couple months before the game was revealed what I like most about this is what I’ll tell you 2dms 2025 and I’ll give you a wink and he’s essentially teasing another 2D Metroid in this post now 2025 for a 2D Metroid when we’re also getting Prime 4 and we haven’t seen this 2D Metroid announced I don’t think that that’s the timeline we would see this but I do believe that with the success that Metroid Dread was that likely Mercury Steam has been green lit for another 2D installment in the franchise probably another original story one not some kind of remake i do indeed believe that we will get some kind of 2D Metroid project revealed to us sometime in the upcoming year and launch between you know the end of 2025 but most likely well into 2026 i think they let the titles breathe a little bit between the 3D Metroid installments and the 2D Metroid installments but that is a very exciting one and to tie it back to an idea while we’re talking about Metroid on one of those games that Nash Weedle teased from the Nintendo Today app announcement I do wonder if the two Switch game announcements one for 2025 uh could one of those be just a shadow drop announcement that would happen through the app of Prime 2 and 3 Remastered headed to Nintendo Switch 2 i don’t know but that would be an awesome way to do it maybe it’s not even a shadow drop announcement but it’s just an announcement that they’re coming and then we get some kind of marketing buildup for them as we get closer to their ultimate date i still really think Nintendo wants to put those out before Prime 4 the same way they did with the Pikmin titles where you have Pikmin 4 one and two were not playable but three was on the Switch uh and then we just got that surprise shadow drop announcement at a June Direct for Pikmin 1 and two playable and they were more simple GameCube upres i think that’s what we’re looking at with Prime 2 and three as well uh but anyway I do believe that Metroid has probably a lot of entries on this Nintendo Switch 2 generation and I think Nintendo’s giving it a full push i mean just look at what we’ve seen promotion-wise for Prime 4 so far and then marketing it as a cross launch title with Switch One and Switch 2 versions available and I think you know Retro Studios to see what they’re going to do with a Switch 2 exclusive game is actually very exciting from here but if we get most of the Metroid franchise if not the entire Metroid franchise playable on Switch 2 at the end of this thing it’s obviously a huge win for fans and we’re almost there so Samus Returns needs to get brought over from the 3DS at some point but moving on from there we do have a ton of different games all Xbox related but I just wanted to highlight them quickly before we get to the big final first party Nintendo game that I’m most excited for so you can see here Psychonauts 2 Doom: The Dark Ages Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Ninja Gaiden 4 Senuous Saga Hellblade 2 Call of Duty 6 Age of Empire 2 these are all Xbox games that we should expect to see brought over and I think that they are all obvious choices as we talked about with Summer GameFest and Xbox Game Showcase not really showing a Switch 2 logo i think we’re just waiting for Nintendo’s next presentation where they want to be the ones to reveal those games not that those games aren’t coming over and on that train of the final third-p partyy game that he has teased here Leak Express I can confirm that a lies of Peport for Switch 2 is in the works their announcement seems like it could be made in June but it depends on some factors in the port’s development as they want to reveal a release date so depending on when this game will actually hit the market based on its development cycle uh Liza P that’s a cool one for me i enjoyed it to completion and I have not gone back and played the DLC yet but this will come over with the DLC on Switch 2 which will be a perfect excuse to replay both the game and go through the DLC in its entirety so that would be a cool one for me as well and then finally you may remember on a recent video on the channel we talked about Nash Weedle teasing an Ocarina of Time remake on a podcast where he has actually referenced it in tweets way back in the past but he had this to say about Zelda remember a couple years ago last year maybe I mentioned before anyone else that they were starting an a remake of Ocarine of Time and people went crazy it’s coming it’s coming but patience people think games are made overnight i even know that well I can’t say much but some people were asked to submit their reimagined artistic vision of the game so I think that’s what’s happening that was like a year and a half ago so it’s going to take time now the only other big piece of information we got is that it is not being handled by Grezo but rather it’s Nintendo this time he questions whether or not it might be released around the Zelda movie in 2027 there’s obviously no telling on when Nintendo will choose to bring that game if it is a real project to the Switch 2 but I do believe that because of the timeline of developing major brand new 3D Zeldas and we shouldn’t expect that anytime soon in the Switch 2 generation and Nintendo likes to have something big in the Zelda franchise towards the beginning of any new console generation I think Ocarine of Time fits the bill for a remake from the ground up to take advantage of all of the improved graphical capabil abilities of the Switch 2 more than any other game out there i just think that it makes the most sense on paper anuma has been spotted in numerous interviews teasing this project in his own Anuma way where he’s saying no comment basically saying that he says no comment in English to the reporter that’s tracking down what he’s saying and that he verbally laughs at the idea in comparison to when he’s asked about some other games like a Zelda Dungeon Maker and he just shuts it down and says we have no plans for that so Anuma has a interesting track history if you look at his interviews of just teasing stuff like this in this exact style and kind of referencing characters from certain games as he’s referenced Raaru and questioned whether or not people know the significance of Raaru from Arc Ocarina of Time and all of that kind of stuff there’s a lot of different smoke with this one not a ton of other insiders claiming that they’ve heard it so you can’t set all your expectations around it but like I said on paper from a logical perspective with how long it’s been since an Ocarine of Time remake even on the 3DS where it was more of a spruced up visual treatment with you know it was a remake but I would say a more limited and scope remake now let’s get the big boy remake and actually reimagine the game in some capacity maybe add in additional content more in-depth story reimagine cutscenes the whole thing i think Nintendo could go all out and I think that if it is an internal Nintendo project uh yes indeed we would be in for a treat as Nintendo fans so let me know in the comments down below what if any of these games are you expecting and most excited for to potentially see hit in the Nintendo Switch 2 generation and do you think that any of these games have a shot at showing up at maybe something like the next Nintendo Direct presentation or do you think many of these are further out than maybe even what Nash Weedle is suggesting so make sure you share all your thoughts and feelings in the comments down below before you leave regardless if we agree or disagree also make sure you like subscribe turn on your notification bell and with that I’ve been Sunbro you’ve been Nation thanks so much for watching and I’ll see you guys in the next
