AI-Generated Summary

In a wave of disappointing news for fans, Rise of Hydra has been delayed to early 2026, joining GTA 6’s shift to May 2026 and the cancellation of the Wonder Woman game. This decision comes after speculation due to the lack of gameplay reveals and actor Khary Payton hinting at a Christmas 2025 release. Developer Skydance stated the delay allows for additional polish to deliver a high-quality experience. The game features Captain America and Azuri, T’Challa’s grandfather, in a WWII-era adventure against Hydra, with non-superhero playable characters and a significant role for Howard Stark. Despite the delay, gameplay is expected to debut at events like Summer Game Fest or The Game Awards. Meanwhile, Insomniac, MCU X-Men, and the Invincible game offer some positive updates for superhero fans. For more details, watch the full video.

Bad News super friends. In addition to
GTA 6 being delayed and Wonder Woman being   canceled altogether, we are officially
no longer getting Rise of Hydra in 2025.  What it do, Durag Nation? I’m back with Super
News Bits, telling you everything you need to   know in 3 minutes or less because I respect
your time if you subscribe. So smash that   like button to share this with more people, or
change it to a dislike if the video was trash.  Honestly, this isn’t that surprising to me. I
previously made a video about games that could   potentially be canceled, and I included Rise of
Hydra because even though I believed the odds of   it being canceled were relatively low, I thought
at the very least a delay was happening due to   the unusual amount of time they had gone without
showing any gameplay, which is always a bad sign.  Combine that with actor Khary Payton mentioning
the game was targeting Christmas as a potential   release window, and I assumed the game simply
wasn’t ready yet, which was just confirmed. In   an official statement, publisher Skydance said:
“Taking this additional time will allow us to   add more polish, and make sure we give you the
best possible experience, and one that lives up   to our vision. We have some exciting things in
store and look forward to sharing more soon.”  The game is now targeting early 2026, which puts
its release window somewhere between January and   March. However, it would be in their best
interest to lock in and get this game out   by no later than February, because GTA 6 was
moved out of 2025 to May 2026—making this Rise   of Hydra delay potentially a disaster depending
on how long this additional polishing will take.  Fans have been eagerly waiting to learn more
about this game, which stars Steve Rogers Captain   America, and T’Challa’s grandfather Azuri in a
World War II–era adventure where the two must   reluctantly come together to face the common
enemy of Hydra, who poses a threat to both the   United States and the hidden nation of Wakanda.
The game also made the unusual choice to add   two additional playable characters that are
non-superheroes: Howling Commando Gabriel   Jones and Dora Milaje member Nanali.
Marvel also confirmed Iron Man’s dad   Howard Stark will have a major role in this
game. So Rise of Hydra is really relying on   Black Panther and Captain America’s combat,
and writer Amy Hennig’s reputation from the   Uncharted series, to sell fans on this game.
Despite the delay, they did promise to share   more about the game soon, so at the very least we
should be getting our first look at gameplay at a   Geoff Keighley event like Summer Game Fest
next month. The absolute latest we should   expect to see is The Game Awards in December.
If not, expect to hear a much bigger delay   announcement, as they’ll want to dodge the GTA
6 release window. Don’t worry though, there is   actually some good news for superhero fans, as
we got some positive updates from Insomniac,   the MCU X-Men, and the Invincible game.
