[Music] So, new Uncharted 5 or Last of Us Part 3 leak along with an official Naughty Dog update and a new big PlayStation 5 sequel confirmed. Those are the stories we’re going to cover today. And if you could hit that like button on the video, thank you to those that do it. And as always, it’s very much appreciated. First, would you rather have Uncharted 5 or The Last of Us Part 3? We’re going to be talking about the possibility of both of those games today. But before then, which one would you want more to happen? So, comment below. Would you rather have Uncharted 5 or The Last of Us Part 3? Let me know down in the comments below. Now, diving into the first story of the video, a new big PlayStation 5 sequel has been confirmed. Reading from Polygon, Stellar Blade developer ShiftUp revealed it’s developing a sequel to its 2024 hit, and it might launch surprisingly soon. As part of an Avestster report published May 16th, Shift Up included a slideshow showcasing its plans for the next couple of years. Platform expansion is listed under Stellar Blade, and it’s reasonable to assume this is referring to the PC port due out next month. The eye-catching note is sequel, essentially confirming ShiftUp is working on a Stellar Blade 2 because the chart is showing ShiftUp’s projects from 2024 to 2027. And based on the placement of the sequel, we can reasonably surmise the developer is targeting 2026 for a sequel to Stellar Blade. The first game came out just over a year ago, and a 2-year turnaround on a sequel would be almost unheard of for a Sony firstp party game in recent console generations. For example, four years passed between 2018’s God of War and its sequel and 5 years between the Horizon games. Also included in the chart is Project, which is presumably a working title for Shift Up’s next project. It hasn’t been formally revealed yet, and details are scarce as to what it actually is. Last year, reports surfaced that Shift Up was working on a AAA urban sci-fi action RPG and was targeting a 2027 release for it, which conceivably aligns with the slide above. Of course, both a Stellar Blade sequel and Project Witches could end up getting pushed out of their expected launch windows as it is common in the industry. Still, even a delayed launch in 2027 for Stellar Blade 2 would be impressive. So, Stellar Blade is a PlayStation Studios title, but I don’t think I would qualify them as first party since they’re not even owned by PlayStation. They’re just a partner studio for now. But I guess considering Shuay Yoshida’s explanation of what a first party is to them, this would fit the bill since Sony funded the title and published it. So that would make this a firstp party game like Hell Diverse 2. But putting that to the side, it is wild to me that these guys are considering releasing a sequel in 2026. But that could be possible, I guess, if they’re using a lot of what they’ve already done once again and maybe enhancing aspects of the game for the sequel. It clearly seems like they already have a vision for the sequel as well. And I’m wondering if the maybe they started development on the sequel as they were finishing the first game expecting it to be wellreceived. But looking at this type of turnaround for a sequel, it reminds me of the PlayStation 3 era. For example, Uncharted 1 launched in 2007, Uncharted 2 launched in 2009 and Uncharted 3 in 2011, and The Last of Us Part One in 2013. The production of games back then was insane considering how long we wait for games now to launch. I really I really miss that era of gaming. Look at the Horizon games for example in this era of gaming. Horizon one launched in 2017, two in 2022, and three is potentially set for 2027. About 14 years to make three games. Let’s hope we see smaller $50 titles that bring sequels sooner rather than later. But let’s see how that goes. I also hope AI manages to help speed up development of games in the industry. Maybe we can start seeing some of that speed up over the next 3 to 5 years. And I’m only talking about AI in terms of assistance as a tool to help speed up redundant tasks. That’s what I’m referring to there. But we’ll see how that goes. And if you’re enjoying the video so far, hit that subscribe button and join our growing community on our way to 150,000 subscribers. Now, diving into the second story of the video, an official Naughty Dog update, and Uncharted 5 or Last of Us Part 3. So, let’s go over the Uncharted 5, Last of Us Part 3 aspect, then move to the Naughty Dog update. Reading from Push Square, there’s been speculation in recent times about Naughty Dog’s upcoming projects. And now, in a slight update, The Last of Us director Neil Duckman has revealed he’s involved in a second title at the studio. Duckman has not only been locked in as one of the directors of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, but he’s also confirmed he’s working in more of a producer role on this second unannounced project. Here’s part of what he had to say during a chat with the Press X to continue podcast this week. Then there’s another game that’s being worked on at Naughty Dog where I’m in more of a producer role and I get to mentor, watch this other team, and give feedback and be the executive in the room. I enjoy all these roles and the fact that I jump from one to the next makes my job very exciting and always feeling fresh. I’m never bored. This follows a story in March suggesting Shaun SK Uncharted Lost Legacy could be leading a second unannounced game at Naughty Dog with Anthony Newman. Last of Us Part Two, also potentially connected to the studios unannounced projects. Naughty Dog originally announced it had more than one PlayStation 5 single player title in the works in 2023 when it confirmed the cancellation of its Last of Us multiplayer project. So, people have been wondering what this second project is. Looking at the information we have from Daniel RPK, he stated that Naughty Dog has a second project in the works that’s not The Last of Us Part 3, but obviously that’s just a rumor. We’ve had other rumors as well talking about an Uncharted reboot, but those were tied with the game being in the works at another studio, but we’ve seen Naughty Dog take a project that began at another studio and take control of it and take it in house and start doing work on it themselves, like the Last of Us remake, which actually started at another studio, not not Naughty Dog, but then they took over. According to Daniel RPK, this other project has been in the works for 3 years. I personally think this is the Uncharted reboot mainly because of Shawn SK working on it because he was a director of Uncharted Lost Legacy. It makes sense for him to take over this project if it’s a reboot of the series with Drake’s daughter as the lead. To add to this, we recently had Shinobi also confirm this is a big project, not a small one, which also makes sense since Uncharted: Last Legacy was a side story to the Uncharted series. But now they’re probably giving Shawn the helm to make a full-fledged Uncharted reboot. As for The Last of Us Part 3, I still think that is in the works as well, but in an early phase with Neil potentially putting in the early work now and probably transitioning to it fully as Intergalactic gets ready to launch in 2026 or 2027. And I wouldn’t be surprised if what was done with The Last of Us Online helps speed up the development for The Last of Us Part 3. Moving over to the Naughty Dog official update. Apparently, Naughty Dog has filed back in March of this year for a new logo as people have found a trademark filing. This new logo to me looks clean and more condensed, which I like versus their old logo, but obviously that’s just me. But you guys let me know if you like Nutty Dog’s new logo or the old one. Let me know down in the comments below. And if you guys did enjoy this video, please hit that like button as it always helps. And subscribe if you’re new. I got new videos every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And now I’ll check you guys out on the next one. And welcome back to the after show. This is the part of the video where we have a little fun down in the comments below. If you’re old, welcome back. If you’re new, welcome. For today’s thing, what I want you guys to do is to body, obliterate, destroy, and overall harass the comment section with show off the games. It feels like every video now, maybe every other video or some videos lately, I’ve been mentioning just, hey Sony, it’s time to show off some of your first party stuff, some of your first party studios stuff. But that’s just personally how I’ve been feeling, especially as we’re gearing up and getting close to the summer event. Hopefully hopefully this time Sony does something big. If you’re hoping for the same thing, destroy the comment section with show off the games. And I’ll definitely heart those comments like I always do because I appreciate everybody who stays to the end of my videos. And now I’ll check you guys out on the next one. [Music]
