[Music] So, new Wolverine PlayStation 5 update, a PS3 game to get a PlayStation 5 upgrade, and new PlayStation 5 price update, and good news for the PS5 as well. Those are the stories we’re going to cover today, and if you could hit that like button on the video, thank you to those that do it. And as always, it’s very much appreciated. First, do you have a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro? We’re going to be talking about the potential future of the platform. But before then, what does everyone currently have? So, comment below if you have a PS5 or a PS5 Pro or both. Let me know down in the comments below. Now, diving into the first story of the video. PlayStation 5 price update and good news. So, let’s start off with the good news first. Reading from Push Square, PS5 added another 18.5 million units to its overall hardware total in the fiscal year ending 31st March 2025. Of that total, 2.8 million units were tacked on throughout the company’s fourth quarter. That makes the worldwide total of the current gen system sales up to 77.7 million units lifetime. Launched aligned, the PlayStation 5 is still trending approximately 1.4 million units behind the PS4. But it’s important to remember the console cost significantly more. Even when adjusting for inflation, its sales curve is almost identical to the last gen system. To compare to the previous fiscal, Sony sold 20.8 million PlayStation 5 units. But it’s worth remembering the company was ex especially aggressive during this period as the console had only become readily available following the stock shortages caused by CV. So it’s good to hear the PlayStation 5 is still pushing close to the PlayStation 4 considering by this time the PlayStation 4 you had a 299 console available on the market alongside the 399 PlayStation 4 Pro. Obviously compared to the PlayStation 5 here we have the cheapest model being at $4.49 49 excluding special editions, Astrobot editions or deals, stuff like that. The official base slim PlayStation 5 is $4.49 USD. So, it’s impressive to see the sales strength of the PlayStation 5. But getting to the not so good news, the PlayStation 5 price is possibly set to increase. Reading from Insider Gaming, in its latest quarterly earnings, Sony said it’s currently considering raising PlayStation 5 prices due to the current tariff situation with America. The news came from the Sony CFO Lin Tao who said the company currently needs to find approximately 100 billion yen equivalent to 512 million to make up for the impact of the current tariffs. In terms of tariffs, we are not just simply calculating the simple tariff prices to come up with the 100 billion yen, but are thinking about the current available information and looking at the market trend. We may pass the price to customers and also shipment allocation. So, we are taking different measures in managing to come up with the 100 billion yen. So, at the very least, it seems like Sony is currently weighing up its options on PlayStation 5 console prices and waiting to see how the current tariff situation shakes out as it’s still incredibly volatile. So, let’s see how this goes. But, it’s looking like Sony might increase prices. But, they are watching the market, especially since I believe there’s another 90-day truce between US and China. So, this is going back and forth. Let’s see what happens. And if you’re enjoying the video so far, hit that subscribe button and join our growing community on our way to 150,000 subscribers. Now, diving into the second story of the video, new PS3 on PS5 remaster/upgrades. So, apparently, one of the last mainline Grand Theft Auto games not available on PlayStation 5 could be making its way there this year. A reading from GameSpot, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed to 2026, but a remaster of Grand Theft Auto 4 could be in the works and potentially out relatively soon. That’s according to tipster test 2, who wrote on the GTA forums that not only is a port of GTA 4 for modern consoles potentially in the works, but it might be released before the end of 2025. Someone at Rockstar hinted at the four port test 2 said via Ben on social media, adding that a port of the 2008 open world may end up coming out in 2025. This person added that the existence of a GTA 4 port might explain why the Liberty City preservation project mod was taken down recently. TZ 2 added that if Rockstar schedules remain intact, a Maxpane 3 port might happen as well and could release after GTA 4’s reported port. TZ2 was responding to a question about these potential games coming to modern platforms, and that could mean PS5, Series X, and S, and PC. I would assume it’s those as well. What other modern platforms could they be talking about? So, a lot of people haven’t played Grand Theft Auto 4, and some consider this to be the best Grand Theft Auto in the series. So, it’s nice to hear that it could be coming back on PlayStation 5 and Series X and potentially PC as well later this year. So, I’ll be interested to pick it up depending on when it releases this year cuz there are a lot of games to play. But, it’s definitely something I want to add to my library. But, you guys, let me know if you’ve played Grand Theft Auto 4 before or not. Let me know down in the comments below. And now diving into the final story of the video, Wolverine PlayStation 5 update. So, it seems like every once in a while someone asks Insomniac Games, “Hey, what’s going on with that Wolverine game y’all got cooking over there?” Now, I don’t know why Insomniac feels the need to respond to so many of these very similar questions, but they do, and we all appreciate them for doing so. It feels like you’re getting something from them, but you’re really not. It’s pretty similar every single time their response because they obviously really can’t share anything. So, we had another person over on Twitter ask Insomniac Games at Insomniac Games. I know you guys are hard at work for Wolverine PlayStation 5, but the community would love just a crumb of information. I’ll ask how’s your day going. Insomniac replied with, we’re working on it. We’ll share more information when it’s ready and when we’re able. That said, our day is great. Hope yours is too. So, it’s a very similar answer to what they’ve given in the past. And they keep saying when they’re able to or when they’re green lit, too, which tells me there’s a clear marketing plan for this game, which I assume could be similar to Spider-Man 2, where they showed gameplay months before its launch. So, they’re probably going to do the same here because this game has been in development for over 4 years at this point. So, they definitely have things to show. I’m excited to see more on this game, but if they go the Spider-Man 2 approach before the marketing side, we might not see anything until later this year if it’s launching in early 2026. But of course, I always have hope that we do see something earlier. Let’s see what happens at this potential PlayStation event later this month or early June. But you guys, let me know if you’re still excited for Wolverine or not. Let me know down in the comments below. And if you guys did enjoy this video, please hit that like button as it always helps. For today’s thing, what I want you guys to do is to body, obliterate, destroy, and overall harass the comment section with ready for the summer show. Obviously, this is in reference to the potential PlayStation event. Whether it’s a state of play or a PlayStation showcase that happens later this month or early June, I’m excited for either if they’re going to bring first party games. I They can call it the banana show for all I care if there’s first party games there. They can call it whatever. I’m excited for this potential event.
