So, PlayStation 5 $80 games, new Naughty Dog PlayStation 5 projects, and Ghost of Yote takes the lead. Those are the stories we’re going to cover today. And if you could hit that like button on the video, thank you to those that do it. And as always, it’s very much appreciated. First, yes or no. Did you pre-order Ghost of Yote or not? Pre-orders went live on May 2nd, and I’m curious if you guys pre-ordered the game or not. So, comment below yes or no if you’ve pre-ordered Ghost of Yotay or not. Let me know down in the comments below. Now, diving into the first story of the video, Ghost of Yotay takes the lead. Reading from Push Square, Ghost of Yotay has, as you’d expect, rocketed right to the top of the PlayStation store pre-order charts around the world in both the UK and US and several other countries we check. To be fair, the game is the number one most pre-ordered release on Sony storefront with the $80 deluxe edition trending better than its bog standard $70 alternative. The more expensive version includes some additional in-game cosmetics like the snake armor set and an exclusive die. Pre-orders for the game opened late last week, so it’s not unusual to see this early success, but it’s likely the release will continue to loiter around the top of the charts until it launches on the 2nd of October. So, I haven’t pre-ordered the game yet, but I plan to pre-order uh to get the bonuses, the pre-order bonuses alongside the deluxe edition bonuses because that’s the edition I’m going to pre-order. I’m happy to see the love the game is getting. I recently finished Assassin’s Creed Shadows and while it was a good game. I have my review over on Twitter if you want to check it out. I personally enjoyed Ghost of Sushi Moore and can only imagine how much Yote is, how much better it is with it expanded arsenal of weapons and Zelda almost Zelda Breath of the Wildlike openw world system. I wish it was launching soon, but again, I have a bunch of games I’m still playing right now, like Doom: The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones, thanks to Xbox and the Bethesda team over there. And there are a bunch of games still to come this summer, so I guess I’m not in a rush. Reading from PlayStation Lifestyle, it looks like Sony won’t increase the price of firstparty PlayStation 5 games in the near future, unlike Nintendo and Microsoft. When Ghost of Yot pre-orders went live yesterday, fans breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the standard edition was still listed at $70. Ghost of Yote’s retail price is significant here because the game launches in October 2025. Nintendo’s new $80 price tag will come into effect starting June with the launch of the Switch 2, and Xbox game prices will be adjusted to $80 starting holiday 2025. Some fans reckon that Ghost of Yotay’s price indicates that Sony won’t be following suit until the end of 2025 at least, but what comes afterwards remains to be seen. For now, players are relieved. So, this was interesting and I think we were all waiting to see what Sony does, but I think they already had their plans set for Ghost of Viote. So, that’s probably why it ended up still being $70 after the Nintendo news and before the Microsoft news. I was wondering if Sony would wait until PlayStation 6 to push $80, but I think in 2026 this could happen. I will say Sony is in a different position than Nintendo and Microsoft because they’re doing both strategies kind of. They have exclusives like Nintendo, but those exclusives eventually after a while land on PC like Microsoft. They don’t have a Mario level title like Nintendo. And they care about console sales unlike Microsoft. So, they might be having a tough time deciding on price increases for their consoles and games to fit with their strategy because they’re kind of in the between Nintendo and Microsoft. Sony has yet to increase their prices on consoles or games, and it’s wild to see that the base PlayStation 5 digital edition is close to the price of the much weaker Xbox Series S. But you guys, let me know if you think Sony will increase prices next year or not. Let me know down in the comments below. And now diving into the final story of the video. Naughty Dog PlayStation 5 projects. Reading from WCCCF Tech, according to insider Daniel Rickman, as reported by his Paywald Patreon page, Santa Monica based developer Naughty Dog quietly canled an unannounced single player game earlier this year. The project had been in development for over a year following the cancellation of The Last of Us Online, the ambitious multiplayer game that was ultimately cancelled because Naughty Dog did not want to turn into a live service game studio after Bungie explained to them what it would mean. As you might remember, towards the latter of its development, The Last of Us Online was being directed by Vinet Agarwal, who previously worked as a game designer on Uncharted 4: Thief’s End, Uncharted: Lost Legacy, and The Last of Us Part Two. He then moved on to this unannounced project, which was still in its infancy when it was cancelled. Agarwal subsequently left Naughty Dog afterwards. Again, according to Rickman, another unannounced single player title is in the works at the studio. This one is further along in development, having started around 3 years ago. Its director, Shaun Eskeay, who was previously credited as the lead cinematic animator on The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: Thief’s End, and later directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. So, this was interesting to read because if true, it paints a picture of potentially what Naughty Dog has going on. They’ve already stated they have multiple projects in the works a while ago before this project was supposedly cancelled. We have Intergalactic with Neil Dreman, Shaun Eskeay’s project, and this canned project that Venet shifted to according to this article. If you guys remember, I had a theory that Nutty Dog would shift their Last of Us Online campaign to a Last of Us Part 3, which is still possible, but I wonder if they attempted to release it as a spin-off title. They already had a campaign focused on a different group of characters in an openw world setup, but it was mixed with online play for this Last of Us Online campaign. I wonder if they attempted to make that its own campaign and shift it to a single player project, but it just eventually didn’t work out in the end. I think Shawn is working on a new Uncharted personally, but of course it could always be something else. So, we have Intergalactic with Neil Shawn’s project, which could be Uncharted. Those are the main projects right now. I do wonder if the canned project team, the people that were working on it, shifted to potentially early work on The Last of Us Part 3. We’ll see. But you guys let me know if you want a Last of Us Part Three or not. Let me know down in the comments below. And if you guys did enjoy this video, please hit that like button as it always helps. This is the part of the video where we have a little fun down in the comments below. If you’re old, welcome back. If you’re new, welcome. For today’s thing, what I want you guys to do is to body, obliterate, destroy, and overall harass the comment section with the summer season is upon us. We’re pretty much almost in that time of year where we have all of these events, these showcases, these reveals, release dates potentially as well. I love this time of the year. And even though we don’t have E3 anymore, Summer Games Fest has filled in some of that that hole there, that void. You know, if you watch Thunderbolts, it’s it’s it’s filled some of that void because now companies have, you know, something to be around when they’re revealing their stuff. Still, it’s that June time frame. Everybody starts showing off what they’ve got going on and what’s coming in the latter half of the year and the future. So, I’m excited for this season. If you are as well, destroy the comment section with the summer season is upon us. And I’ll definitely heart those comments like I always do because I appreciate everybody who stays to the end of my videos. And now I’ll check you guys out on the next one.
