sonia PlayStation is thinking about purchasing Warner Brothers Discovery which includes WB Games HBO Max possibly AEW and so much more now this is some pretty crazy gaming news ladies and gentlemen of course we’re going to dive into Sony’s interests possible motives warner Brothers Discovery is splitting into two companies wbd Global Networks cable TV and WBD Streaming and Studios streaming and studios with gaming the split expects to be finalized by mid 2026 sony’s interest in this is reportedly to acquire the WBD streaming and studio division sources suggest that Sony is interested in acquiring this division streaming studio and gaming assets now I would like to point out that in this report Sony is not interested in the TV networks they are solely interested in streaming studios and gaming warner Brothers games recently restructured to focus on four key franchises: Harry Potter Mortal Kombat DC and Game of Thrones the restructuring may make the gaming division more attractive for acquisitions if Sony acquires WBD streaming and studio division it will significantly expand PlayStation’s gaming library and potentially lead to some Warner Brothers game titles becoming PlayStation exclusives that is big in the gaming industry now I’d like to point out that this is a rumor nothing has been confirmed by either Sony or Warner Brothers Discovery the Warner Brothers Discovery split is not yet finalized and this situation can change so I’d like to reiterate while there is no official confirmation of PlayStation buying Warner Brothers games there are strong rumors and reports indicating Sony’s potential interest in acquiring WBD Streaming and Studio Division which includes the gaming assets now it is worth noting that AEW’s contract with WBD is reportedly unaffected by the split according to Facebook but it’s unclear what would happen if Sony were to acquire HBO Max as many of you guys know AEW is currently streamed on HBO Max so we’ll have to wait and see when the cookie crumbles now this could be huge for Sony and PlayStation considering the fact that Microsoft and Xbox have been doing so many things in the gaming industry and their recent announcement of their handheld with theme deck on it yeah so I could definitely see Sony and PlayStation wanting to get WB games at least but if they get the studios and all the assets and everything it really makes me wonder are we going to see Spider-Man in the DC universe we’ve seen it in comics it’s rare spider-man is Marvel but if Sony owns Spider-Man and Sony owns DC part of me is a comic book nerd now from a gamer’s aspect of it my personal opinion this will be huge for Sony and PlayStation if they’re able to acquire WB Games and WB Studios with all of their intellectual properties and everything in between but I’m kind of curious what industry professionals in the studios think about Sony and PlayStation taking over if that does happen but it also makes me think what would Sony and PlayStation do with HBO Max aka HBO HBO now they they’ve named it so many different things but you know the HBO Max streaming service what would Sony and PlayStation do with i have an idea how about for the premium subscription of PlayStation Plus you add Max for free with no ads then PlayStation Plus Premium would be worth it but ladies and gentlemen I’m going to pass the question off to you what do you think about this let me know in those comments down below if you’re new subscribe with those bell notifications turned on if you like this video at all hit a like if not check out my latest video right here or stay tuned to the channel because I got a lot more gaming news coming your way
