Hey everyone, John here. And this is where you say, “Hey John, everyone here.” Okay, there’s a bunch of Switch 2 news that’s happened over the last few days. And the first thing I want to start with is something that I’ve been worried about. I’ve been sweating and panicking and chomping at my fingernails thinking about this. And this just aired on Nintendo today. And it’s about game chat because every time they’ve shown game chat, it’s always four people in big ass windows. And I’m like, dude, what if I want to play in one big ass window? What if I don’t want to see all these floating little squares everywhere? Well, Nintendo today have shown us that you can have one big ass window if that’s what you want. So, in game chat, there’s a bunch of settings. In fact, if we zoom in right here, you can see that there’s a few settings here. There’s screen layout, chat audio, camera video, screen sharing, and accessibility. We’ve seen a bit of accessibility before. We know there is going to be some text to speech, so you can use a USB keyboard and type, and that’s going to be formatted into speech. And it can also transcribe what everyone’s saying into text, which is quite good for those who just aren’t very good at hearing. It’s also quite handy in general. As for all the other settings, um, we’re not entirely sure most of them do. Is chat audio going to be just balancing the game audio and the microphone volume? Maybe. Will it allow us to change the microphone itself? Can we plug in a USB microphone or a 3.5 mm microphone? Also, maybe. We don’t quite know. Camera video. Is that going to be about the quality that you’re streaming at? Will it allow you to use other USBC cameras? We know that’s a thing. So, maybe that’s going to be in there. And then screen sharing as well. Is that also going to be resolution? A bunch of unknowns. But the main thing we do know is screen layout. So there is standard layout, which is what they’ve shown pretty much every time. There’s going to be expand main screen, which is going to make everybody’s window small but still viewable. And then full screen, no windows, just yours, but you can still chat with everyone. And this is a big deal because so far it’s looked rather clunky. And every time they’ve shown game share, it’s always with the uh the big windows intact. So, I imagine all this will apply to GameS Share as well, meaning that you should be able to have a big window without all the clutter getting in the way of the game, and that’s really cool. So, that’s great. It’s great to finally know this. We presumed that would be the case because why wouldn’t it be, but without the evidence, it makes you sweat. So, that’s great to see. And I want to show you something from Sonic Racing Crossworlds, which technically hasn’t been announced for Switch 2 yet, but it will be. Uh, and this is from the Japanese account and they have shown windmill Isle from Sonic Unleashed is a map in this game. One of the most, if not the most iconic Sonic Unleashed levels and it’s pretty much one to one. They haven’t really adapted it. They’ve just kind of put it in there. Although they have added a flight section, so it is a bit different, but this is still very much Windmill Isle and it’s also still very much Radis Flip. You probably thought that Mario Kart Tour was over because it is over. They said it was over. But data miner Koopa V has another story for us. They found that in the game’s code, there’s actually a new driver coming with four new cuts, which is pretty wild for a game that officially ended support that game is over now. Uh, if I had to guess, it’s Cow. It’s got to be Cow, right? There’s got to be something to tie it into Mario Kart World. And who is more iconic as an additional character than Cow? It’s got to be Cow. It’s got to be Cow. Maybe add some new carts like the dolphin cart, the cow cart, all the little wacky world stuff. But man, I I would bet my life on it being cow. And I suppose if I’m wrong, you just going to have to kill me, aren’t you? Koway Techmo have shown a bunch from the Switch 2 version of Noananga’s Ambition Awakening. And it’s really interesting seeing this game because it is a strategy game pretty much made for PCs and this made its way to consoles is on PS4, PS5, but it’s it’s very much a mouse game. So seeing a lot of Joy-Con mouse gameplay is really cool. But one thing that they’re showing which we haven’t really seen in other Switch 2 games is you can just use a USB mouse. And I don’t imagine this would be a thing for every Switch to mouse game, but for when it’s possible, uh it just kind of makes sense to do it. In fact, the Switch One supports mouse for a bunch of games. Game Builder Garage, Clock Tower, Quake. There’s a bunch of Switch One games that do use the mouse, and it’s just kind of cool that you can choose a regular USB mouse in place of the Joy-Con mouse. Now, I’ve personally not used the Joy-Con mouse yet. I’ve heard it’s very comfortable, but for long-term play, maybe just a USB mouse is the ideal way to go, especially when you’re at a desk. So, it’s it’s just neat to see this, and I hope that Civ 7 also does the same thing. Um, cuz the input’s there. Why not expand what you can use to actually point around? But yeah, that’s the main thing. There’s a bunch of gameplay here which I’ll keep on screen for a little bit longer. But this game is looking pretty rad. It’s one that I missed out on on its initial release. And I’m kind of thirsty for a a big mouse game. I’ve been eyeing up Civ, but maybe I should be eyeing up this one as well. To end off, Nintendo have updated Game Boy NSO with four new games. There’s Gradius, the Interstellar Assault from Konami. There’s the Sword of Hope from Keekmo. There’s Kirby’s Star Stacker. And lastly, this one’s actually quite interesting. Survival Kids, and you may know the name Survival Kids from the Switch 2 launch title of the exact same name. I only recently learned that this is a legacy series a few weeks ago. So, it’s really cool that this is now going to be on NSO to learn a bit about it, cuz I have to say, I’m not particularly excited for Survival Kids on the Switch 2. It’s not really my thing. But looking at the vibes of this Game Boy game, I actually am interested in this. I think this is dripping in vibes. I I really want to play this one. And this is out right now, so you can play it now. I’m going to play a bit tonight. Um, and who knows, maybe I’ll become a survival kids fanatic after exploring this one. But look, look at the box arts just side by side. One of them is dripping. The other one is dripping in a different way. Okay, but I I’m pretty eager to try Survival Kids on the Game Boy now. Uh this is also a series called Lost in Blue, which um came to the DS as well. It’s one that’s completely skater by me. Um in fact, Survival Kids isn’t even called Survival Kids in the UK. We call it Stranded Kids, but the Switch 2 game is not called Stranded Kids. It’s called Survival Kids. Um it’s a whole thing. It’s a whole thing. Survival Kids is Stranded Kids is Lost in Blue. It’s It’s Survival Kids again. What can I tell you? Anyway, what did you like the most out of this big news drop? Let me know. And I will catch you all next time. We’re like 2 weeks away from the launch now, by the way. We’re so close. Catch you later, everyone. Bye-bye.
