what’s up guys saf here on SuperSaf TV and it’s June already which means it’s time for my top five smartphones of 2025 so far now you guys know the drill a lot of smartphones that get released earlier in the year tend to get forgotten towards the end of the year when we have lots of smartphone awards and top five lists and also you might not want to wait until the end of the year to see which smartphone might be the best for you you might be in the market for the best smartphone right now and that’s what I’m here for now as always we do have to go over some disclaimers before I get into the list i’ve used a lot of smartphones this year but I’ve not used every single one so no doubt my top five list will be different to yours and that’s fine guys we can still be friends drop your favorites down in the comments below this list is also in no particular order and it only includes smartphones released in the year 2025 now we’ve only had one new iPhone that’s released in 2025 the iPhone 16 and spoiler alert it hasn’t made my top five list if you want to know what my iPhone of choice is it’s the iPhone 16 Pro Max i’ve been using it since it came out it has excellent performance with the A18 Pro very consistent cameras with excellent video great battery life in my experience and a camera control button which I simply don’t use now with all of that out of the way let’s get to my list so the first smartphone in my list once again in no particular order is what I think is the most underrated smartphone of the year and no doubt it’s going to get forgotten later in the year and it is the OnePlus 13 now this might not have some of the bells and whistles that other smartphones in this list have but it’s just a great smartphone at a great price it’s got amazing battery life one of the best of 2025 with a huge 6,000 mAh silicon carbon battery now silicon carbon technology means you can get a larger battery capacity in a smaller form factor and that’s why the OnePlus 13 is actually more compact compared to the OnePlus 12 even though it has a bigger battery 100 W of charging 50 W of wireless charging unfortunately in Europe anyway we no longer get the charger out of the box an IP68 as well as an IP69 rating which means not only can you submerge this into water but it can also endure high pressure water jets a beautiful 6.82 in quad HD plus 120 Hz Pro XDR display with a partial peak brightness of 4,500 nits of course it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite which means performance is excellent and although the cameras may not be as good as some of the other smartphones in this list they are pretty good overall and one of the best things about the OnePlus 13 is the price it starts at around £820 or around $850 there are lots of deals and tradeins that you can also do to bring that price further down and I think that’s a great deal for what you’re getting with the OnePlus 13 now as much as I love Oxygen OS and just how fast and smooth it is OnePlus have guaranteed four major Android OS updates and 6 years of security updates which is good but not as good as some other smartphones on this list an honorable mention has to go out to the OnePlus 13R bit of a cut down version of the OnePlus 13 but with some amazing features at a great price around £530 now or $550 by the way I’ll be leaving links to all of the latest offers and deals down in the description below now next up is one of the best allrounders of 2025 and that is the Honor Magic 7 Pro it’s got an amazing symmetrical design and even though it’s got a large camera module it is very well balanced it has an IP68 and IP69 rating a beautiful 6.8 in 120 Hz display with a 500 nit partial peak brightness but more importantly it has the industry’s highest PWM dimming frequency 4,240 Hz now I think Honor is comfortably the market leader when it comes to eye comfort of their displays if you’re somebody like me who likes to use your smartphone when you’re in bed in the dark then you’re really going to appreciate the Honor Magic 7 Pro’s display the Honor Magic 7 Pro is also the industry’s first dual 3D biometric security experience so it has a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner as well as a 3D time offlight sensor for 3D facial unlock now pretty much every other Android smartphone out there does have facial unlock but they only use the front-facing camera which is not very secure unlike the Honor Magic 7 Pro with that 3D time offlight sensor you’ve got great all round cameras with Honor’s AI motion sensing capture which is great for capturing action of course we have the Snapdragon 8 Elite which means performance is right up there and we have very good battery life even though here in the UK we get a smaller battery compared to China so a 5,270 mAh third generation silicon carbon battery in other regions you will get up to 5,850 milliamps 100 W of wide charging 80 W of wireless charging and are now promising 7 years of software updates which brings them right up in line with the Google Pixels and Samsung’s out there now although the price is pretty high £1,100 you can actually use a coupon code to get the price down to just £850 and Honor also bundling in lots of accessories which makes this a great deal i’ll leave that link down in the description below now an honorable mention has to go to the Honor 400 Pro honorable mention for Honor anyway now the Honor 400 Pro the first device to introduce the AI image to video which is absolutely mind-blowing and with the discounts that Honor offers it actually brings the price down to around £550 which is very good now we’re going to be moving on to some ultra smartphones and I think 2025 has definitely been the year of ultras the ultra that most of you seem to think is best is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra now this is just a great allrounder i do like the flat sides that we have it does have my personal favorite display on any smartphone thanks to the anti-reflective properties of Gorilla Armor 2 it has excellent consistent cameras now with log video as well of course it’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy so performance is amazing and although this year we no longer get air actions with the S Pen so you can’t use the S Pen remotely like you’ve been able to do in previous generations it is still the only smartphone out there with a proper embedded S Pen which I love now as with the Honor Magic 7 Pro Samsung are promising seven generations of Android OS updates and I would say that the S25 Ultra has the most complete AI package on any smartphone especially when it comes to generative AI you can literally cover half of your face take a picture and Galaxy AI will fill in the rest of your face for you now of course it’s not perfect the battery life is good overall but it’s nowhere near as good as some of the other smartphones in this list and it’s not using silicon carbon technology so if Samsung were using silicon carbon technology we would have been able to get a bigger battery on the S25 Ultra it’s not got an IP69 rating like pretty much all of the other smartphones in this list and it’s also priced quite high starting price of $1,300 or $1,250 now as always Samsung do have lots of deals they usually give you 512 GB for the price of the 256 so I will leave some affiliate links down in the description below now an honorable mention does have to go out to the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the S25 Plus they offer a lot of what the S25 Ultra does such as the 8 Elite as well as all of the Galaxy AI features but at a lower price and I can definitely recommend either of those two now for the next smartphone on my list this got very difficult and I actually went for something that was readily available here in the UK unlike some other Ultra devices and that is the Xiaomi 15 Ultra this thing is an absolute beast 6.73 in quad HD plus 120 AMOLED display of course it’s got the Snapdragon 8 Elite it’s got a huge battery 5,410 milliamps or up to 6,000 milliamps if you are in China 90 watts of charging 80 watts of wireless charging and an amazing camera package with a 1 inch size sensor for the primary camera two telephoto cameras with a 50 megapixel ultrawide camera as well now you can also get it with a photography kit which makes it look more like a camera than a smartphone and I’ve been very impressed with the photos and videos from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra now like the OnePlus 13 Xiaomi have promised four major OS updates with 6 years of security updates which is not quite up there with the likes of Honor and Samsung and it’s also a pricey device comes in at £1,200 but at least it is available here in the UK unlike the last smartphone on my list now this last position was split between two choices and neither of these are commercially available outside of China which is a real shame and I normally don’t include smartphones that are not readily available here in the West because it’s hard for me to get them but I just could not ignore how good one of these is so the choice of the final spot was between the Vivo X200 Ultra and the Oppo Find X8 Ultra and which one did I pick can we get a drum roll is of course the Vivo X200 Ultra i have been so impressed with the cameras on this device you’ve got the same sensor for both the primary as well as the ultrawide camera the Sony LYT818 it’s got an amazing 200 megapixel telephoto camera and putting this up against something like the S25 Ultra which has generally been the king for extended zoom the X200 Ultra is mind-blowing thanks to its sensor for the ultrawide camera it also gives you great lowlight images from the ultrawide camera better than something like the S25 Ultra and even that aside it’s an amazing smartphone ip68 IP69 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and it’s got up to 1 TB of storage now if you do go for the 1 TB storage option you will get the photography kit included now this kind of takes what we had on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra to another level not only does this come with a camera grip that has a 2,300 mAh backup battery it also has a Vivo Zeiss 2.35X telephoto converter now I’m not sure how often I’m going to actually carry that lens around with me but honestly it really does turn heads it’s an absolute beast it’s got a huge 6,000 mAh silicon carbon battery with 90 watts of charging as well as 40 watts of wireless charging now it is topheavy more so than pretty much every other smartphone out there because of that huge camera bump now although it is relatively easy to get a hold of this from somewhere like eBay and it’s generally straightforward to get the Google Play Store on it it’s just not going to function completely as you would with a device that you didn’t have to import in so something to keep in mind now because the Vivo X200 Ultra made my list it does mean that we can only give an honorable mention to the Oppo Find X8 Ultra which is an amazing smartphone snapdragon 8 Elite 6,100 mAh silicon carbon battery a very good quad 50 megapixel camera setup with a 1 in sensor the photos and videos from the Oppo FindX Ultra are amazing but once again you will have to import this in and it’s not readily available in the West so that was my top five list now we do have to give some honorable mentions most of the devices that I mentioned in this video also have a pro version like the Vivo X200 Pro as well as the Oppo Find X8 Pro these are also very good devices if you can’t quite afford the Ultras and yes I didn’t mention any budget devices in this list purely because we’ve just been bombarded with so many ultras this year I had to include these but if you did want a recommendation for some budget devices I absolutely love what the company Nothing is doing with the Phone 3a as well as the 3a Pro and if you want to go further budget than that then the CMF Phone 2 Pro is also a great choice if you’re somebody who’s a dedicated gamer my recommendation is always the ROG phone we’ve had the ROG Phone 9 as well as the 9 Edition which released in 2024 actually but they’re 2025 smartphones very confusing anyway that’s my list as I mentioned towards the beginning of this video my list is going to be different from yours we can still be friends what are your favorite smartphones of 2025 so far drop them in the comments below i will leave links in the description for all of the best deals for the devices mentioned in this video remember we will have the end ofear top five so you don’t want to miss that as well as the SuperSaf style collaboration with all of my friends so
