First up, Meta just dropped its Q1 earnings and they’re crushing it. We’re talking $42.3 billion in revenue, up 16% from last year. Earnings per share, $643, which is a wild 37% leap year-over-year. What’s fueling this? Ad impressions are up, ad prices are up, and Meta is doubling down on AI. So much so, they’ve bumped their spending guidance to as much as $72 billion this year for AI infrastructure. That’s right, 72 billion. Wall Street is loving it, and Meta is projecting even stronger sales in Q2. Microsoft isn’t sitting still either. Their cloud division pulled in $42.4 billion with a huge 20% jump in AI related demand. They spent over $21 billion this quarter alone, mostly on building out data centers and AI capacity. So, if you thought the AI hype was slowing down, these numbers say otherwise. Meanwhile, Apple’s making some big moves behind the scenes with US China tariffs heating up, Apple’s ramping up production in Southeast Asia and India. It’s not easy matching the speed and efficiency of China’s supply chains, but Apple’s investing heavily to make it work. The tech world is watching closely. This could reshape where your next iPhone or MacBook comes from. On the AI front, Alibaba just launched Quen 3, their latest open-source large language model. They’re aiming to take on rivals like Deepseek and Open AI. So, expect the AI competition out of China to get even hotter. And here’s something cool for space fans.
