gaming news today is all about labels first we are now hearing that the Xbox handheld that they temporarily shelve has in fact been cancelled and now not recently the announced Ally that’s not what’s been cancelled but this is going to be an actual Xbox handheld made by Microsoft that is seemingly not happening now i previously theorized it would not take place and they would just let other companies make hardware for them and run their OS and maybe be basically just like PCs we’ll see what that means for the future of Xbox hardware plans and we’ll discuss it in this live show second Bungie’s now being listed as a PlayStation studio which to some is a nothing burger but given recent developments does this signal a bigger change and a PlayStation’s earnings call or presentation roller coaster first we hear that it’s being shelved and then Xbox announces the Asus ROG Ally that many are confusing with being made by Xbox and now we are hearing from reliable sources that the Xbox handheld that was going to be made by Microsoft has been shelved but actually cancelled so if you feel a bit confused fear not i will try to clear this up for you first the Xbox handheld announced during the Xbox showcase is basically just an Asus ROG Ally that will have a more stripped down OS from Microsoft as well as the Xbox button on it this is their first step in having something to compete with the Steam OS and it has nothing to do with the Xbox handheld that Microsoft has allegedly canled so where is this coming from tom Warren from The Verge reported that quote “I’ve heard from insiders that it’s essentially cancelled as the company focuses on Xbox’s new software platform.” Even Jez Cordon from Windows Central who originally broke the story of the handheld being sidelined he indicated to me that he did not believe Microsoft would ever take it off the shelf again and that it was essentially not going to happen he did however say that he believed the hybrid console we’ve continued to hear about will come out as the nextG console and Tom Warren seems to agree he said quote “I still think we’ll see nextgen Xbox hardware from Microsoft but I also strongly believe we’ll see multiple devices from PC makers like Asus and will also be considered nextgen Xbox consoles.” So honestly this just kind of lines up with things that I felt about the future of Xbox hardware they would move away from a a traditional console and start letting others make the hardware with their OS on it essentially marketing their and sort of marking their exit from hardware in a traditional fashion and being more of a publisher and an ecosystem what do you think does this change your thoughts on the future of Xbox hardware or not let me know in the comments burger or a huge shift for Bungie there really isn’t room for an in-between in case you miss it there was a lot of speculation that Bungie did not turn things around and that would lead to PlayStation taking over as things continue to get worse at the company in the wake of the marathon controversy with the poorly received showcase their alpha and then the stolen artwork many were thinking that a PlayStation takeover was imminent and you may not realize this but Bungie operates independently even though they are owned by Sony they are actually the ones publishing Marathon not PlayStation so it would take a pretty significant change for them to no longer be in charge well Sony Interactive Entertainment launched a new PlayStation careers website and when you get to the page that says discover PlayStation Studios Bungie is listed and the description of these studios is that they are responsible for quote developing a wide range of exclusive games for PlayStation consoles which currently that is not something Bungie is doing destiny remain remained a multiplat game and Marathon is coming to PlayStation PC and Xbox so this could be a generic logo placement and it literally means nothing has changed or given the silence from Bungie and what happened with Marathon the PlayStation takeover may have actually started happening what do you think did it finally happen and will it fated space expedition create alternate versions of himself to escape a hostile planet and tackle personal turmoils with his unconventional crew so you can see why I’m intrigued and why others are intrigued i will say you know that the review guide that was given to me it did say to make the scientist first so take that tip from the review guide one of the reviews I read complained about resource management and you can actually lower the economic uh difficulty in the game if you find that to be too frustrating so if you just want to enjoy it you can turn the economy difficulty down so anyways so when Jez Cordon first reported that the Xbox handheld had been sidelined he is talking about one that is made by Microsoft not anybody else that’s that’s what he was talking about okay so that is not what was announced at Xbox showcase the Xbox showcase is a handheld are we getting a frame rate issue no okay the Xbox handheld is um the Xbox ROG Ally I’m sorry that they announced the Xbox showcase that’s just an Asus Rag ally made by Asus and it has it has nothing to do with like Xbox production it’s not an Xbox right i know everything’s an Xbox now but like it can’t play all your Xbox console games it’s not like a portable Xbox it’s an ASUS ROG alloy which is already in the market even even even hardcore Xbox guys agree with me on this a lot of them have said they don’t really think there’s anything to this they’re just like it’s another it’s just another ASUS in the market okay so that has nothing to do with what’s been cancelled according to Tom Warren the handheld that was sidelined has actually in fact been cancelled they’re just not going to do it which isn’t surprising to me at all i speculated that it was never going to come to the market i was like I think that thing’s done jez Cordon agreed with me he actually stopped by the stream and he like he tipped he did some he did some gifted members he’s always been very kind to me in the show he and I had you know we buted heads way back when and we buried the hatchet he has since been very kind to the show he’ll stop by sometimes and he’ll do that and he agreed with me he says “I don’t think the handheld comes to market.” He says “I think they’re just going to leave it permanently on the shelf.” But he did think and I agree with him on this and Tom Warren agrees that the PC console hybrid is coming in like the 2027 2028 you know time frame so there will be another quote unquote console from Xbox but it’s it’s it’s likely to not be a traditional console it honestly sounds to me like this thing they’re doing with the strip down OS for the Asus ROG Ally is step one and I believe that thing that they ship in like 2027 or 2028 I believe that’ll kind of be the culmination it’ll basically be a PC for your living room is what I think it will be i do not think it’ll be a traditional console in any in any respect it’ll basically be the stripped down OS that they’re working on right now and you’ll be able to load Steam on it if you want you’ll be able to just interact with you know Xbox games in the way that you do now on your Xbox sdto thank you for the single gifted i appreciate that so so much that takes us to 628 on the week i appreciate that you guys might want to get ready he may be setting something up some of these guys like to set it up so that we’re like 20 bombs away from big ones mini PC with an Xbox logo that that’s that’s what I think it’s going to be i really do i I don’t think it will even remotely be a console in any respect of how we have used the word up to now i I really don’t think so and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing i’m being specific because so many people are not being specific and it can be it can be confusing people can be you it’s very easy to mislead people people that are going to think that that Xbox ROG ally is an Xbox we talked about that in morning coffee i said if I walked up to my friends who trust me and they know I’m an expert in this industry they know it’s what I do they know it’s what I cover they come to me with questions about this stuff like “Oh what are the games coming out how are the games doing how’s the industry doing?” Right i had a guy um who uh we were talking about uh GTA 6 and Take Two and the stock and he bought stock he did i didn’t tell him to i was just talking about how it dipped and it was going to probably recover from that dip and then next year it was going to probably soar even higher and so he bought on the dip i didn’t tell him to he just is really into stocks okay so that’s the level of trust these guys have if I went up to them and I said “Yeah it’s it’s in Best Buy right now there’s this thing called an ASUS all an Xbox ally and it’s an Xbox it’s a handheld Xbox.” They would think something completely different than what you and I know about it they would think “Oh it’ll be my Xbox that I have on the go i’ll be able to install all my games i’ll be able to take my games with me.” And that’s not true so you have to understand like we talk about this all the time like the divide between the average consumer and those of us who who know all these things right like I was watching an LD video this morning a Legendary Drops video and he said that gamers know he’s like “We already know that there are contractors and outsourcing and quality assurance work like this that happens.” And I’m like “That’s not true gamers on YouTube and Reddit know that but the average gamer doesn’t know all those details they don’t know all those details.” Like that’s that’s such an assumed thing so like I that was a part of his video like I just didn’t agree with i was like I actually don’t think gamers know this i don’t think that they know the inner workings of how these games operate now we do if we cover it or if we’re constantly in these circles discussing but in the grand scheme of gamers we are a super small minority we are not the majority and the same goes for situations like this with the Xbox handheld it’s like the average person doesn’t know this stuff they’re not going to know the finer nuances of like oh it’s an Xbox like it’s an Xbox like they’re going to be like oh it’s a portable Xbox that’s what they think they’re going to think that they’re going to be able to get all their games on it it will almost certainly be a pre-built mini PC says William with an Xbox logo i know it’s not on your docket but if you care about the PlayStation business meeting I have highlights on my post i saw your posts maybe I don’t want to like shove that into this show just yet that I I feel like maybe that’ll take over Monday because I want to really analyze what’s going on there like you know Marathon being included seems odd but they probably don’t have a choice they don’t have a choice yeah uh I think Keenan was designed to play Xbox console games and not PC games and Microsoft could not make it work at this point in time says Gothmog i have a ROG Ally and you can’t play Xbox games on the go but you can play Steam games on the go right it’s a good device for what it offers but like I think it should be very specifically stated to people what the capabilities of the device is that’s what I think that’s why I’m being specific seller Blade is flying on Steam i wonder why it’s cooking because it appeals to an audience that’s pretty big on PC which are people that like games with adult level content in them and it will likely sell more copies on PC than it did on PlayStation gooners are Legion on Steam so so was it canned or not okay okay there are two Xbox handhelds okay one is being made by Asus it’s a ROG Ally it’s coming later this year it’s probably going to be around $900 okay and the other handheld was planned internally and it was going to be made by Microsoft it was going to be made by Xbox according to Tom Warren at the Verge his sources have told him it that thing has been completely cancelled they’re moving forward with their software interesting how he said they’re moving forward with their software strategy as I said in the wake of the ABK stuff I said I think they’re going to convert Xbox into a software strategy sort of a software ccentric business model they’re a software company 900 that’s interesting i mean it’s going to be slightly stronger than one that’s in the market right now for $900 so yeah it’s it’s going to have to be around that price i can’t see how they could make it cheaper than that that would be I don’t know if that’s I mean unless they just take a huge loss per unit um but I said I said I think they’re going to lean into software strategy they’ll be able to mod it on PC oh for sure patholon the mods oh boy um that’s all I’ll say about the price you have to align your expectations with the market and what we’re doing here adding 32 gig OLED uh Z2 Extreme and all those extra bells and whistles would cost a lot more than the price bracket you guys are used to on the Ally and the vast majority of users are not willing to pay that kind of price wait so I’m I might be a little ignorant here i’m not aware i wasn’t aware that it’s that big of an upgrade oh oh oh that’s why it doesn’t have an OLED so that person is saying if they would have added all those things it would have significantly raised the price asus explains why the ROG Ally by Xbox I’m sorry why the ROG Xbox Ally doesn’t have an OLED screen okay so it’s not that big of an upgrade that that article is explaining why because it would have made the thing significantly more expensive than the current allies in the market got it yeah so it’s probably going to be around $900 yeah um hang on i got to snooze the ring i got to do an eight hour snooze uh well no I’m only going to do a two-hour snooze i think my family’s leaving i like having it on once they’re gone but when they’re coming and going Xbox will eventually cancel all hardware it’s what they do i’ll say this i’m really going to change my my prediction here i think the PC hybrid for the living room won’t even be made by them i bet it’s not even made by them i bet they task somebody else to make it and they’ve slapped their OS on it and sell it as a as a nextG Xbox and I think their slogan and their marketing is going to be is going to be something to the effect of more than a console that’s what I’ve said for the very for a very long time i’ve said they’re going to market it and they’re going to say more than a console and they’re going to say this is more than a console this Xbox can do this it can do this it can do this and that’s going to be their big marketing push for it that’s going to be how they they sell it i don’t even think they make it i think they’re going to have somebody else make it i they’re they’re seemingly they’re seemingly just reeling back everything they had out there that was like traditional Xbox console ccentric strategy it’s all getting pulled back it’s like nope not doing that nope not doing that we’re not doing exclusives we’re not doing day and date on the standard game pass subscription yeah we’re not doing that handheld next in line next in line is we’re not going to we’re not going to make our own console why would we it’s expensive and we don’t get good return on it we haven’t got good return on it two gens in a row that’s what I think i don’t even think they make the next one that’s not a big deal by the way you kind of don’t want them to if we’re honest you probably want Asus or somebody else making it it would probably be better given what they did with Series S and Series X i mean they sabotage this entire gen with a weaker box and it So yeah let somebody else make it that’s probably better you’ll probably get a better device honestly why would people wait for the new ROG Ally if it’s just another ROG Ally what’s the function of the Xbox button is it just the logo i’m assuming that if you hit the button it open it’ll open up like and make you feel like you’re on an Xbox like it’ll open up an interface that rep that that sort of replicates that experience like they’re going to strip down the OS to make it more gamerentric and I bet you when you hit that button it’ll like have that slide out so you feel like you’re on an Xbox because Phil spoke about this he talked about how he wants that experience to be the same across all spaces and they I think there was something recently we learned about them they’re going to be developing something so like their games if they’re multiplayer or anything like that you know how when you open up Fall Guys it’s very reminiscent the social aspect of Fall Guys is almost identical to Fortnite how the friends list and all that pops out i think they’re going to start cooking up things like that so like whether you are on a PC a TV a ROG Ally or this future thing they’re building you’re going to press that button and it’s going to make that bar pop out and you’re it’s going to sort of unify the sense of the ecosystem of Xbox i’m excited for it seems like most people are looking forward to it the the the the Xbox ROG Ally I don’t see a lot of excitement about it why are you excited why do you think people are looking forward to it i see the opposite i see people shrugging at it they’re like “What the heck why would I get that?” I’m seeing like really hardcore Xbox guys that are just shrugging at this thing okay guys stone Spire has not been given his 20 bomb this week yet i don’t think this man is so faithful he’s going to set up a 20 bomb all right it’s going to be 630 in a second and 650 is the next milestone and whoever hits it gets it that’s who gets the next gifted five all right i already owe YouTube I already owe YouTube a fivebomb all right give this man what he honest is this really in the business interest of publishers and developers that sell games on multiple platforms oh you want to own that that game and get cross progression so that when you’re on your Steam deck playing it on Steam you’re also making progress in the game that you also then play on your PlayStation yeah you got to buy it again people bought GTA multiple times they’re going to buy GTA 6 nine different times like what’s good feed yeah again again I’ve continued to say Xbox like doesn’t seem to understand the business interest of other companies like Game Pass is not in the business interest of most companies right it it’s like we want to sell so you got to write obscenely large checks to get games on Game Pass which makes the entire strategy shaky at best i mean we’re already hearing from a company the guys from Revenge of the Savage Planet they were like I you know it it might not be a good idea we’ve had other companies speak to the problem of Game Pass we’ve had CEOs speak to the problem of Game Pass and how it’s value destructive these are people who make decisions about really big pieces of property and they’re like “Yeah that’s really value destructive.” And now you got another thing play anywhere that’s completely at odds with with what most seuite’s going to want to do which is sell the game more than once seuite and devs I’m sorry seuite and shareholders aren’t going to like oh yeah we only want people to buy the game one time and then let them play it anywhere again that’s totally at odds with what most gaming executives are going to want you you just keep making yourself unappealing i don’t I don’t get it series S made the platform unappealing you know passively blaming Larry and passively blaming you know Game Science with Wukong you’re just making your platform so unappealing and now Play Anywhere oh okay that’s the future that’s the future you shouldn’t have to buy all the devices but if you own all the devices you shouldn’t have to buy the game more than once what the freak like that game companies don’t agree with they’re not going to agree with that now some might but the average won’t thank you Joker Quinn for gifting a member bumping the line to 632 the ever faithful Joker Quinn out here constantly bumping the gifted line there’s an article on Windows Central where Square Enix more or less says that they are not putting Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster on Play Anywhere right because they want you to buy the game multiple times they’re in the business of selling games see this is this is this this has been the issue with Xbox for a while is they create strategies that center around themselves at the at at sort of the the sacrifice of somebody else’s business interests they center their entire console and identity around Game Pass hang on one second they center their entire identity around Game Pass which is at odds with what most companies are going to want to do i keep peeking hang on i fiddled with my um I fiddled with my mixer and I I’m just I’m just getting into its sweet spot again Xbox doesn’t meet developers where they are that’s what I’m saying like I I I struggle to see I struggle to see their their third party relationships improving if they want to if this is their new push is if Play Anywhere is your new push and it was you notice the big thing that they banged on during the Xbox showcase it wasn’t Game Pass it was Play Anywhere they are once again making themselves unappealing to other game companies it’s like why would we want to be okay with that if somebody buys our game on PlayStation and then they want to play it on Steam or they want to play it on PC they got to buy it again that’s what most publishers are going to say because they’re in the business of selling games they’re looking for an easy win trying to pretend to be consumer friendly says Aoz xbox is enforcing Play Anywhere on third party developers if I’m not mistaken how on earth can people be antiplay anywhere i’m not being anti-play anywhere no no no no no no that’s a really easy way to false frame what I’m saying i’m not saying that I’m antiplay anywhere i’m saying game executives will be anti-play anywhere meaning one of the central aspects of Xbox’s new marketing push is something that a lot of companies are going to say no to do you understand like they’re once again creating a central strategy and central identity around something that game execs are going to be like “We don’t want to do that why would the freak would we want to do that why would we want to be make it so that the consumer can only buy the product one time?” Ask I mean ask Rockstar how well being able to get people to buy a game more than once worked out for GTA 5 ben Ben says it doesn’t matter if they’re pretending to be consumer friendly as long as they’re providing alternative cheaper options here’s the issue okay this isn’t their first rodeo offering the cheaper option series S didn’t work out for them at all it didn’t i don’t I don’t think this is going to suddenly be some big win for them if they wanted to focus on Play Anywhere they should have done it a long time ago with Windows 10 says FCAT all right think of it this way look at the dialogue surrounding this okay look at the dialogue surrounding the the Xbox ally and Play Anywhere the dialogue is this is the future this is where things are going this is where things are going baby games everywhere Play Anywhere right xbox is seemingly always leading the charge from third place for for the last for the for the last six years I I’ve had to hear about how Xbox is leading the charge xbox is this is the future this is where things are headed did you do you see any of the snippets from PlayStation’s latest earnings report just take a gander at it just take a little peek at it what’s it say they’re asked about Microsoft’s new strategy and they say “Yeah we we we don’t feel any urgent need to switch our strategy.” They talk about how they’re going to be particular about games coming to PC later but we we we’ve had to hear all the last couple of years that this is where things are going playstation’s doing the same thing playstation’s following Xbox and yet every time we talk about this it becomes clearer and clearer and clearer that that’s not the case and if this is them leading the charge this is the future h how people thought Game Pass was the future people thought basically turning gaming into Netflix was the future and it’s clearly not it isn’t their their their Game Pass subscribers have plateaued subscriber services in general have plateaued and then we’ve got record-breaking sales and breakout titles doing incredibly well so you have to ask yourself how is Play Anywhere the future of gaming if as it’s designed it’s immediately antithetical to to the business interest of the people that they’re going to be pitching it to which by the way am I saying that right or wrong because Joker in one of his videos he kept saying he kept saying antithetical and it made my eye twitch because listen I’m the king of mispronouncing things but that one antithetical okay thank goodness [Music] antithetical he kept saying antithetical and I was like I’m like stop it it would be like watching an entire video and somebody keeps saying epiome instead of epitome or hyperbol instead of hyperbole it made my eye twitch and listen I’m not judging i mispronounce words all the time i’m the king of misprononunciation but Joker that one hurts yeah lock in step now getting an idiom wrong is different than just straight up saying the word wrong which it’s not Monaco by the way it’s Monokco it’s It’s Manokco i’m going to remember how to say it cuz I love him i absolutely love him he clutched up a fight last night for me i was like “Yeah I see your shields.” And I was like “Wam wham wham,” with the spear killed killed the boss it was awesome uh anyway that that that’s the question before I went and looked up how to uh say antithetical um love you Joker he he probably doesn’t pay any attention to me uh but I I I think his content’s funny i like his stuff i was surprised that he did a face reveal um but but how is this the future of gaming if it’s literally antithetical to what the business interest of these companies are like you’re going to approach big big companies and you’re going to say “Hey would you like to be involved with Play Anywhere?” And they’re going to say “No not unless you heavily compensate us.” Because you’re basically telling people they only have to buy the game once so what you’re going to do is you’re going to have Play Anywhere be a list of games where some of the biggest titles are not included how is that the future of gaming it’s just going to be another version of Game Pass to a certain degree it’s going to be heavily saturated with their own content which credit where credit’s due they got a lot of great content they own a lot of property now but that that again then it’s not play anywhere it’s just like another weird ver it feels like another weird version of game pass like a list of games that will be over time more saturated with Microsoft property than anything else which again how is that the future of gaming why is anybody coming to your ecosystem why if some of the biggest titles can’t even make it on these lists that you’re compiling of like Play Anywhere raphael McCoy with 13 months thanks for all the content keep on rocking the truth thank you so so much and that gets us to 630 that is not true that would be insane if that were true 633 thank you bill Spencer’s always quiet during the chaos like Doom the Dark Ages who barely sold well I mean Doom: The Dark Age is not selling well is an interesting one to me because Game Pass should not have affected the sales of that game on PlayStation it also should not have affected the sales of that game on Steam did you hear about Steam banning all those games banning what games what are you talking about play Anywhere is just another income vector but for Microsoft ecosystem Steam users will continue to use Steam same for other storefronts it’s additive as a lifelong PlayStation gamer it sticks to my craw that Microsoft owns Crash Bandicoot the one with the ads in them i don’t know what games you’re talking about i didn’t see any headlines or stories about games with ads in them on Steam getting banned play Anywhere sounded good a long time ago but it’s doing nothing really in the end listen I I know I know this will get misconstrued i know I I am not saying that I’m antiplay anywhere i’m not i’m saying game devs and executives they’re going to be anti-play anywhere because they’re going to say that’s not in our business interest we know that people buy our games a percentage of them are purchased across multiple platforms more than once by some of our most ardent fans giving those people the option to only buy the game once is not we’re not interested in that if you can’t outsell your competition maybe by offering things like this they hope to bleed them customers outside Microsoft might start asking for this play Anywhere really only speaks to existing gamers hilly I don’t think play like imagine not being a gamer play Anywhere would be like “What?” They’d be like “I don’t even What do you mean play anywhere what why do I care about that?” Like it’s a concern and a care for a hobbyist gamer who’s going to have a handheld a PC and a console somebody who’s not currently gaming isn’t going to be like “I already have a pain point i have multiple gaming devices and I only want to buy the game once.” Like that doesn’t speak to a non-gamer because they don’t they’re not in our ecosystem they don’t have all the devices this is like a a restaurant declaring that going forward all meals will be buy one get one free and people being like that’s the future of dining out yes because the average restaurant’s going to be like we can’t do that that’s not in our business interest play anywhere doesn’t do anything for me 99% of my play time is from the couch if I try to think about this in the best light my only thought is guys can we get 200 likes on the video let’s on YouTube smash that thumbs up we’re having a really strong start thank you maybe they’re looking at you know Asian markets much because of the prevalence of PC and console culture where we live it’s like most people that are going to game in a serious way like they buy they want to buy games they see commercials for you know Call of Duty or God of War or something and they want to play them they’re going to be playing them as Eugene said like on their couch it’s the future of DA Studios what’s What’s the future of AA Studios could be big in Japan home PCs are rare right so they’re playing at a cafe and then they’re playing on their handheld like play anywhere might speak to somebody in a market where they’re rarely at home right this was this was sort of what we thought the portal was meant to do especially now that it has cloud was it was it meant to be a catalyst for people to say “I don’t really game at home.” Like uh PlayStation saturation in Japan has always been weaker than US and and Europe uh saturation so we always thought well maybe the Portal was to help with that maybe Xbox is thinking similarly like well play anywhere will appeal to markets where people don’t really play at home play anywhere for multiplayer games are fine with me because I know I’m under Xbox’s security formerly Xbox Live oh I did like playing Xbox games on my Meta VR i’m mainly just taking issue with the idea that this is the future i don’t think that it is i think it’s another marketing beat from Xbox that’s just being pared by all the marketing mouthpieces like I I do not think consumers are going to suddenly say “Yeah that’s that really matters to me.” And also I don’t think developers are going to say “Oh yeah that really serves our interest.” Like think about the two things that Xbox has made central to their identity in the last 20 years or so in the last 15 years one of them is game pass where you don’t have to buy the game and now play anywhere where you don’t have to buy the game multiple times both of those sentences are like that’s like poison the the average executive is going to recoil at that and be like “Wait what your your main your big offer your big pitch is that the consumer doesn’t have to buy the game.” And now your your crack squad cooked up another winning strategy and it’s you’re going to tell the consumer they only have to buy the game once the average executive is going to say “We have no interest in that whatsoever.” How is that the future of anything it’s another very odd antithetical strategy it’s like that the average executive of a very big game a mainline game a popular game is going to say absolutely not that that’s not in our interest at all it only works if your purpose is to undercut your competition in the hope that they will go out of business yeah but there’s no way that this is going to do that because the performance of Nightrid on PS5 is absolutely disgusting and it’s quite annoying how FromSoft keeps getting a pass i’m I I am disappointed that as a YouTuber it’s never it’s never you know great when a video kind of underperforms i’m really disappointed in the way my Night Rain video is treated it got brigaded by the Defense Force of FromSoft it has a 46% like ratio and the viewership tanked because they all went and brigaded it they all went and left hate comments and didn’t watch the video it’s like they shoveled out they shoveled out a game that doesn’t run well that’s missing basic features for a multiplayer game to function and you’re all lapping it up like good little fanboy doggies like Giny freaking Christmas it’s just like everybody handwaving the egregious performance issues of Monster Hunter Wilds fanboy gamers are the worst because they they overlook actual problems and then and then want to fight about stuff that doesn’t matter it’s like people are more willing to fight about a character creator letting you put a beard on a character than they are like getting actually angry about you know flaws in the game’s you know structure and performance you know things that are objective stupid defense force is the worst thing for your video it’s the worst thing because you get flooded with bad you get flooded with bad views they all come to your video hit down vote leave a comment and don’t watch and they leave it’s like it’s irritating i could tell when it happened like the video was doing great and then it just went like this and when that that happened literally the day after I I was flooded with with hate comments what happens to games in your library that can’t be accessed with the handheld nothing they’re just sitting there you can’t do anything with them that’s why calling this an Xbox is it it’s not an accurate thing to say it isn’t it’s not accurate calling the ASUS rogue allies your takes age like wine i wish there was an algorithm for aging like wine i’ve got so many videos from this year that got defense force brigaded my one about Manhun Wilds got defense force brigaded and I don’t have the volume to compete against it i’m not a big channel so it kills the video and then I get defense force brigaded on the night reign video and both of my videos are bullseye it’s like these games should not be given a pass you shouldn’t be accept but what what drives me crazy about this is we get all this belly aching and whining about AAA games are in the toilet and AAA and then these are the same people that defend games like this it’s like you literally are lapping up slot from two big AAA companies from soft and Capcom and acting like it’s okay for them to ship games in the state that they shipped in you’re everything wrong with gaming those g both of those games should have been eviscerated they shouldn’t have been praised they shouldn’t be they shouldn’t be getting like award nominations they’re they shipped in a state in a state that they shouldn’t have shipped in it was like people doing defense force on Mind’s Eye it doesn’t make any sense to me it doesn’t make any sense it’s like where’s all the bloation and self-righteous and and and indignation about AAA games shipping out slop where is it what the what’s what’s going on here you want to weaponize Expedition 33 and and whail on AAA companies with a game built by 30 poorly and has that many issues that’s slop to me it’s like your game isn’t ready what are you doing and and and From Soft ships Night Rain with blatant stuttering blatant performance issues frame issues issues on the PlayStation it doesn’t have crossplay it doesn’t have voice comms and it’s like if anybody else would have shipped a multiplayer game in that way it would they would have gotten eviscerated but the FromSoft boys will come to the defense of that game as if it’s a a a maiden in need of rescuing it’s just ridiculous who’s defending Minds Eye i mean not very many people the Rag Ally was canceled they just announced it no it was not cancelled xbox’s handheld was cancelled there’s two different Xbox handhelds there’s the one that just got announced that Asus is making and then there was one that Xbox was going to make themselves according to Tom Warren at the Verge it has been cancelled they said they were shelving it and apparently no it’s just done they’re not going to do it four bosses in soloing Night Rain one day playtime i don’t regret my purchase i I’m not trying to dissuade anybody who’s having a good time i That doesn’t matter to me you having a good time doesn’t matter you can have a good time walking on barb wire that doesn’t mean that I’m going to encourage other people to do it like you get what I’m saying like I appreciate that people are having a good time but you have to admit if another game shipped like that and it was multiplayer and it had no crossplay no no cross-platform play no voice comms and had all these performance problems people would have eviscerated the game it would have flopped my argument in my video was that this game should have flopped it didn’t flop because it’s got such volume and such such a large fan base and people are going to have fun regardless they’re going to go in with a pre-made team and they’re going to have fun there’s enough people like Elden Ring was so dadum popular that Night Rain was basically too big to fail xbox at least is pretty smooth for me the performance problems are not gamebreaking homie it’s just frame issues like bosses with frame drops and stuttering and freezing and stuff it’s not the whole time like you can play the game it’s not like egregious where you’re like you’re unable to play like the performance issues in mind are are like constant basically that wasn’t the case with Night Rain the Xbox handheld they should have made is being cancelled an Xbox handheld that could play all of my Xbox library plus have access to all the PC storefronts yes that has been cancelled walking on barb wire and playing night rain builds character it’s from soft these games have always been jank i want to know how I want to know how a studio gets to that level i want to know how do you get to the level of they’ve always been jank do you know what I’m saying like I want I want to get to that level as a content creator where you tune in and the stream quality is terrible and the and the microphone cutting out audio is messing up and I want people to be like “Oh his streams have always been that way.” It’s fine it’s fine it’s always that way it’s always been that way you know and I’ve got like a million viewers that’s what I want i want that status did you just mess with your audio maybe the Gigg community has in fact gotten good at excusing the lack of basic features in quality of life improvements so be it lono has and will always be jank the Tyler one experience i mean yeah yes i I would like to take this time to say congratulations to Tyler one he’s achieved that level of uh of notoriety and fame that people just accept the fact that he’s going to scream into a $40 microphone headset and the quality is going to be horrendous but no one can look not right before but before the leadup to the Xbox showcase Jez coordinate Windows Central reported that the Asus OEM handheld was going forward but Xbox had sidelined their own handheld up to that point it was known that Xbox was planning on doing both the rumor was they’re going to do an OEM with a with another developer with another hardware company everybody pretty much knew it was ASUS it was like sort of an open secret everybody kind of knew they also were going to be doing their own handheld and then they also were going to be doing like a PC hybrid for their next console those were sort of the known rumors about Xbox hardware going forward so then in the leadup to the showcase Jez reports because obviously things are heating up about the ASUS because they’re getting ready to announce it at the showcase so Jez his sources say “Yeah that that’s going forward we’re going to focus on the OS for that and other devices and we’re going to we’re going to sideline our own handheld.” Now at that time that that the day of that reporting Jez stopped by the show and was typing in the chat here and he said he did not believe the handheld was ever going to happen he thinks “No they’re saying sidelined and that they’re still committed to it.” And he says “I I don’t believe them.” He he thought and I agreed with him i said “I think the thing’s done they’re just doing the it it sounded a lot like just four games to me right?” Oh no no yeah yeah but we’re still committed to the handheld right just four games you know that’s what it sounded like like like this assurance that everything’s going to be okay that’s why today I’ve predicted their future PC hybrid whatever it is I don’t even think they’re going to make it they’re going to cancel those plans too and they’re going to hand that off to somebody else and they’re going to say “We’re focusing on our OS we want the OS to be as good as possible there’s no reason for us to be invested in making our own hardware anymore we can get other people to make it for us the Rock Ally is still coming that’s one the one from the showcase xbox Sideline their own handheld that’s correct that is correct i want to point out that if this was Xbox hardware ASUS would not be the one talking about its specifications there you go what kind of numbers does the Ally need to sell to be successful is ASUS just happy with the free marketing i mean the production lines were probably already in place to make this thing i mean you know what I mean it probably wasn’t some enormous endeavor or undertaking for them i don’t think the risk is I don’t think the risk is is that high for ASUS i’ll be if the thing sells if the thing sells a million copies I’ll be I’ll be kind of shocked the entire PC handheld market’s at like 6 million or something they’re also putting this in the market i just thought about this good golly have you seen the numbers for the Switch 2 like we haven’t even talked about that entity in the equation like the Switch 2 is insane with the numbers that it’s pulling and I told y’all that it would be i said that thing is going to sell a dumb amount it’s going to be in it’s going to break records and it is so you got to think about holiday this year i think Nintendo is going to swing really really hard i don’t think we even I don’t think we’ve even seen Nintendo hasn’t even stood up yet they like it’s they’re God I’ve always said they’re Godzilla everybody ignores them because they’re kind of like under the water and people don’t pay attention to them i’ve always said they are Godzilla nobody Everybody’s like “Oh Nintendo what about Nintendo’s for kids?” What shut the freak up we did put some respect on Nintendo’s name they’re Godzilla has have always been they’ve crawled out of the water and they haven’t even stood up yet and they’re breaking records they haven’t even done a big marketing push for this both of my friends across the street that we hang out with regularly both of them were like “I haven’t seen any marketing for the Switch 2.” I’m like “Yeah they didn’t need to.” The first wave was just all early adopters and they broke records with early adopters with the people that were going to buy it no matter what you could turn it on and Reggie could insult you and every they still would have bought it it doesn’t matter so it’s like they haven’t even really swung the bat there’s loads of trailers no the marketing everybody was commenting on that journalists bloggers everybody was saying that the marketing for the Switch 2 was very subdued in the leadup to the release and here’s the thing when they actually start swinging and they launch like a mainline Mario or like a mainline Zelda I think they’ve got something up their sleeve i do i think Mario Kart swung big then there’s Donkey Kong metroid doesn’t have a release date yet i wouldn’t be surprised if they swing real big with a with a mainline Mario for holiday you do a mainline Mario for holiday and you do bundles dear Lord oh my gosh like that it’ll it’ll be insane they the Pokemon game’s not even out yet it’s not even a mainline Pokemon but the Pokemon game’s not even out yet they don’t even really need to do a new game they could just do they could just keep doing the Mario Kart bundles and really push the pedal down on the marketing and I’m here to tell you that’s a factor in this equation the gaming world is going to be paying attention to the new hotness from Nintendo and Xbox is going to have a rag ally like that i just don’t think the demand for it is going to be very high at all i see it as a big upgraded from Switch one even Switch One games run oh yeah i love it i love it if I wasn’t playing Expedition 33 like my Switch 2 would be getting a stupid amount of hours right now a stupid amount of hours i’d be playing Zelda all day every day if I could it’ll be expensive to boot i really want to know what all of the people who bloiated and complained and and and got really angry about the price of the PS5 Pro i want to know what their take is going to be on this thing nintendo a new Nintendo bundled with Mario you’re crazy what do you mean they have it bundled with Mario Kart right now the the last Mario Kart sold like 75 million copies like they took one of their most popular franchises and most sold games ever and they put the newest one bundled with the Switch i don’t I don’t I think they would I think they would bundle it we’ve been ignoring Nintendo for years because it has catered to a different audience rather than the traditional console audience i don’t know if I agree with that i think a lot of the traditional console audience has a Switch it’s very additive a lot of people got it just for things like Zelda or Animal Crossing it literally didn’t change anything huh i Oh I’m joking new hardware with new Mario is genius and what they almost always do oh okay i was really confused Eric i didn’t catch the sarcasm um yeah like if if Nintendo swings hard with their marketing this is why I want to know where all these people are that complained about the PS5 Pro price and the Switch 2 price I really want to know what their thoughts are on when the Asus Xbox ROG Ally is 900 bucks or so and it lands at a time of the year where everybody’s going to be clamoring to try to get a Switch 2 for 450 they cancel the handheld according to Tom Warren from The Verge the handheld that Xbox was making has been cancelled the Asus ROG Xbox is still coming microsoft was going to make their own they sidelined it and now we’re hearing it wasn’t just sidelined it was cancelled now that problem is gone what problem and you thought it was a problem that they were making a handheld the Xbox ROG that you can’t even download games to from your Xbox library i’ll take the Nintendo Switch too it’ll be that it does more than other devices that’ll be the justification series S should have been a handheld unfortunately that would have been a massive massive leverage point for Xbox this gen but I don’t think the tech was there back then like when they were building the S I don’t think there was tech to build it whether it was the the GPU CPU memory or the battery configurations that were required for a good handheld right like I don’t know if they would have been able to do it they were and they probably weren’t even thinking about it they were probably thinking about like you know they were still operating in the they were still operating in the threshold of a traditional console is that right all legacy libraries can’t be passed to the ROG no yeah you you can’t this is why this is why I’ve been saying I’ve been a stickler i’m like calling it an Xbox is misleading can we get a bloiated emoji no isn’t the Rock Box just kind of an amped up Steam Deck but with less games it won’t be with less games it’ll be able to do Steam it’ll be able to do Xbox Play Anywhere games but you will not be able to the the the the issue with the Xbox library being accessible on other devices has been an issue for a while like you don’t have the ability like right now I can’t just load up the Xbox app on my PC and just play all those games that I own i can’t do it there are some that you can but the the majority are just they’re not there my sister got a Switch and put a thousand hours into Tears of the Kingdom docked now grinding No Man’s Sky in the series isn’t loving it wasn’t a gamer three years ago there you go i was just wondering no no that you you wondering about that Derek that’s a big question that people have they’re like “If I’m buying this thing and it’s got the Xbox logo on it what are the capab like am I able to play my my Xbox library?” Because that’s the thing you can’t really do right now people you can’t access it you’ve got to be on your Xbox which is totally fine that’s not like a knock but it’s like it is somewhat confusing to people that are like “Well Xbox puts everything on PC and Xbox.” They have for a while and then they start doing this sort of like “Oh well there’s Play Anywhere games and there’s Game Pass.” And it’s like oh they’re sort of unifying everything and it hasn’t ever really unified it’s like it’s some You can cloud stream on a Steam Deck yeah but you can’t Can you cloud stream every So can I cloud stream like all my 360 games that I own is that possible are those all available on the cloud i thought even the games available on the cloud was limited that was something that I feel like I feel like Jez Cordon criticized them for that that you can’t you can’t access all your own games on the cloud that’s an issue with PlayStation as well right that’s an issue with the U with the ULAS the enduser license agreements have to be uh adjusted to allow for cloud streaming that’s why a lot of games cannot be cloud streamed it’s actually sort of like a a legal ease thing you have to stream it like the Portal well that would be remote play at that point that would be Yeah that would be different so accessing your library on the Xbox ally yeah that’s it’s not it’s not possible you cannot access your library you can access the the 1,00 something Play Anywhere games which that’s not bad i’m not saying that’s bad like oh that’s not enough it’s to me it’s the impression that people are getting and the lies that are being circulated calling it an Xbox you are essentially creating a false expectation in people what is this this new feature that allows you to turn a public live stream into a members only live stream we’d different return policy like if you go buy some cables from Best Buy and you take them back you get all of your money back but like laptops and devices like this are typically like a 14-day return every right to do that.” It’s like “Wait wait wait wait wait no communication requires agreed upon definitions and terms you can’t just be like “Well I mean we called everything an Xbox so we redefined what it is so now we can say that this is an Xbox and it doesn’t matter if the consumer is misled or comes to a false conclusion cuz hey we changed the definition.” What that sounds like some My Truth BS it’s like what the huh would it be better if they completely rebranded i don’t know i I You know what El Dunarino the best question to ask how should they have marketed the ASUS ROG you know hey Lono hey Reforge how should they have marketed i don’t know i don’t know how you market something that’s got your label on it that’s not an Xbox i don’t know how you do it the thing’s known for making a variety of of of pieces of hardware the Xbox name is synonymous with console i mean Phil Spencer himself said box is in the name when he was asked about like if they were going to continue to have consoles so that’s why it’s confusing like if Microsoft makes a phone or a tablet or a laptop or or a f or or or a or or a phone did I already say that one or a handheld no one’s confused and is like “Well those are all PCs.” Because that’s not synonymous like when you see Microsoft making hardware they’re not synonymous with making PCs they’re synonymous with the operating system on the PC that’s what’s confusing here xbox is synonymous with a console so when you see an Xbox handheld you’re going to think “Oh they made an Xbox that I can carry around with me.” Xbox has always been an OEM product this is not right it would be like if suddenly PlayStation had a um a laptop you’d be like “Wait am I going to be able to play my entire PlayStation library on the other people cannot get the wrong idea and also yeah it’s really a learning like I will be way more selective with the sponsorships that I take in the future that I know will be something that might be of interest to you and will actually be a good game uh because I know you come to the channel for my recommendations for my opinion to hear updates on your favorite games and I get it that if you saw that minds video saying it has a lots of potential and then all the launch news you’re like what the heck so uh yeah that that really sucks um basically when we started that video there was not a lot known about Mansai so I thought okay I want to explain it because I do think that the core concept is pretty interesting that in a single player game you at any point can pause it on PC select build and then create your own activities and missions so basically normally a single player game ends but now there should be this constant drip feed of content created by players but also by the developers i think it’s again a pretty cool concept and I think it would be cool if other single player games did that as well so that was the approach for the video but again I I totally uh yeah did it the wrong way like I also included my opinions um yeah I I said things that I liked um I also talked about things that I was like I’m not sure but it does have a lot of potential i get it it kind of felt like a review and that was totally not the intent of that video and I just did not have the full picture because when I played like I played a limited amount I did not run into a lot of issues actually and to now see all the crashes that people are experiencing the bugs the glitches the poor performance on console that I wasn’t aware of like I feel really bad because that was not what I experienced but again maybe I yeah I could have seen it coming maybe so again I want to learn from this and make sure that I don’t that I even though I have an idea for a video that could be like great for a sponsored video let’s look at the product as well uh I think that’s the the big learning because I want to know what ver did he play a different version or something that’s what I guess that’s my question for Jory is like did they send you did they send you something or did he play the release day version and just not have any of the issues i mean people were saying that on Twitter they’re like well I’m not having any major issues i mean if I don’t know if he was playing it on PC or what um I also think in his defense a lot of people don’t watch your video they react to the thumbnail so all they saw was a video where he said it had potential and they didn’t watch it i don’t know what he said it sounds like he more focused on the technical aspects of like oh this game could have a really cool concept going forward and that’s a lot of potential and the video didn’t really focus on the actual game itself because he didn’t have a review copy it It’s again it sounds to me like he made a video that sounded like a review that wasn’t a review he was speaking to the technical aspect of it that it had potential it got misconstrued as a review because that was my question i was like why why are there videos about it and sponsored videos about it if the if nobody was sent review copies so do they basically pay him to do what amounts to a commercial and if they did I think that’s totally fine i think people do that but I think people maybe misunderstood the video and thought it was basically a review so I I think he’s doing the exact right thing he has taken the videos down that’s that’s loss of revenue and he’s willing to pay to reimburse people that might have bought it you know and he’s he’s probably going to go into details uh about that so you know I’m going to put a link to the video and uh I I would say support the video i’m not going to watch the whole thing um I’m going to give you guys the ability to support the video all right cuz I I like Jore and I feel like guys like this get caught in a crossfire and I don’t feel like he had bad intentions he’s a standup guy i feel like he’s trustworthy i don’t think somebody you know w- with with a with a million subscribers is like interested in in lying to you to to the public i think he got caught in a crossfire here and he made a video about like “Oh sure i’ll do a sponsored video oh wow these details sound really promising and they seem like there’s a lot of potential he makes a video and then it gets misunderstood i think people thought it was supposed to be a review and it wasn’t interesting is he just like he like glossed over the fact that like smaller studios were saying and agreeing that like the guy that worked on Bellatro and others were like agreeing that like there’s this weird thing that happens when a small studio has a successful game and they were not agreeing with like the mantra like he just kind of like I don’t know he kind of glossed over that i was like us versus them situation you can’t ignore the fact that even smaller devs were agreeing it’s this idea that like AAA is threatened by this so they’re trying to silence they’re trying to silence or take away from what Expedition 33 achieved by saying it wasn’t built by 30 people it was built by like hundreds of people are there only 30 people in the end credits no that’s the whole point that people were trying to bring up it’s like even the even the one guy that said like he’s credited as being like a solo dev even he was like “Yeah that’s not really accurate.” I think it’s an over it’s an overrealized position i don’t think it’s a bad position to say smaller studios and and and smaller game studios are instructive to big studios again I said this the other day it’s not punitive like “Yeah let’s just whail on these big st Yeah screw you your games suck and these guys are doing a great job.” And these guys are like “Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa we’re all out here trying to make games boys let’s settle down let’s settle down like you’re act you’re actually like poisoning the greatness that is Expedition 33 by turning it into like a Lucille bat in your war against AAA Studios aaa Studios are in similar situations they’re trying to bring a game to market they’re trying to do the best they can it’s not this big corporate entity that’s evil and maniacal and just there for you to whail on i mean it just because the company’s big doesn’t automatically mean that like oh yeah they’re bad they suck they put crap in their games it’s like well they’re more corporately bound more shareholder bound so sure it’s going to lead to maybe tighter timelines and pushes into monetization or live service that gamers have you know spoken out about and saying that they don’t like but that’s not true of every single AAA studio or game i worry the AAA studio heads will learn the wrong things my hope is that they learn smaller projects driven by passion have a greater likelihood of success and they’re lower risk we know that studio execs and the big guys they’re risk averse we know this that’s my hope that’s my hope and this is another video I think I need to make um um cuz I like that line that Expedition 33 is instructive it is not punitive it is not meant it should not be weaponized as as almost like this public punishment and like we’re just going to be you know the alpha of Marathon that first day they had good engagement for a closed alpha i don’t think that’s incorrect to say i like I like Joker i like his content but I don’t I don’t think this is the I don’t think this is the swing to take they had a closed alpha that right at the front there was lots of interest it was only Yeah it was only in America it was closed and then they opened it after and yeah for like 12 hours we had strong interest in engagement there were big streams being watched there were people trying to get into the Discord and there were people playing the closed alpha yeah the way that it has um probably not i think the exclusives do drive purchases of of the device i do think it being a handheld drives purchases as well i also think there are people that are just loyal to Nintendo so like the idea of having a Nintendo console is like default for a lot of us because we grew up with it so it’s sort of endemic to Japan it’s endemic to a lot of gaming you know uh gaming households it would certainly diminish the sales though yeah I would have bought them because my children like them and like to have the the handheld on trips and stuff they I got my son a Switch Light for that reason so that they could each have their own Switch on trips but if I didn’t have kids and I could buy Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Kart World on other devices yeah I probably wouldn’t buy the Switch 2 wouldn’t need it see what the It’s a It’s a symbiotic relationship the exclusives have to be at an excellent caliber because they’re part of the packaging of the device right like Mario Kart has to be incredible you know the the the exclusives the first party games from from PlayStation have an amazing track record like if you if you look at I mean Herman Holtz described them as the differentiator and they are they are they’ve got consistent game of the year nominations consistent game of the year wins Nintendo exclusives consistent game of the year nominations consistent uh you know wins marathon got delayed is that official or is it just the fiscal are people just reading the fiscal thing has this been officially announced or was it the fiscal thing like it’ll it’ll be out by the in this fiscal period which ends in March i’m not seeing anybody reporting marathon delayed i that would be I feel like that would be flooding my my feed right now i think it just said that it’ll launch within this fiscal period which ends in March i don’t think it’s been delayed to March they’re they’re aiming to launch by I think we’re I think we’re misreading that FCAT i think they’re just saying it’s releasing in this fiscal period i’m not seeing anybody reporting that it’s a fiscal It’s a fiscal report so they’re going to they speak they speak about releases within fiscal periods let’s be honest the PS5 lacks its own identity and SIE already talked about the PS6 which is disingenuous to their consumers i always like when somebody says “Let’s be honest here.” And then they won agreement with their really stupid opinion like let’s be honest here and then you proceed to say something that’s just bankrupt like okay no no one’s going to agree with what you’re saying unless you’re I mean unless they think the exact same thing that you do like I you know what I mean like I of course they’re talking about the PlayStation 6 they’re signaling that we’re in the second half of this gen so you got to start talking about next the next gen as well you also have things in the works with Project Amethyst and AMD like they’re not going to not mention PS6 and this gen lacks its own identity what does that even mean you need to What what do you mean by that like we’ve got We’ve We’ve just gotten such a great cadence of games i just you have to play this weird version of of console war Calvin Ball where you make up rules so that PlayStation’s somehow losing i there’s just been a consistent and steady stream of exclusives i I don’t I just don’t I genuinely don’t understand this it It’s It’s literally just a completely madeup position just to like cope with the fact that you lost like lost big you know a lot of people cheered for the wrong team this time around i was cheering for the wrong team i was an Xbox guy at the beginning of this gen i was I called Xbox a sleeping giant and I got the sleeping part right like the PS5 is printing money on the sole fact that it’s more expensive than previous generation but there was better generations that’s a convenient way to take away from the fact that this is the most successful generation that PlayStation’s ever had and they’ve also hit record MAUs and they also have incredibly high new user acquisition every quarter people are buying PlayStation fives that have never had a PlayStation before but you’re going to attribute all of the success that because they didn’t do a halfway through the gen price drop that’s a dizzying display of logic like K okay i don’t like in every bracket in every bracket they’re they’re doing well and winning and we’re still going to find some way to be like yeah but it’s only because they haven’t lowered the price and therefore it’s you know falsely inflating the revenue results and there are actually better generations okay all right 2 plus 2 equals 5 man whatever makes you sleep better at night they’re silly for buying a PS5 could just cloud what I think i think we’re in one of the best times to be a gamer i have played video games since the Kico and I genuinely feel that I have played some of the best games of my life this gen i’ve played Returnal i’ve played Tsushima Forbidden West God of War i’m currently loving Expedition 33 i I don’t know where this weird insistence on misery and looking back comes from you want to know what it is i’ll tell you what it is i’ll say the quiet part out loud a lot of these people have smoked themselves stupid with hate and anger and they don’t play games anymore they’ve lost the ability to enjoy games so they create this mirage of like it was all better back then and everything sucks now no you suck now you don’t like to game anymore and you disrupt the conversation for the rest of us that are having a perfectly fine time it would be great if you all would just go somewhere else and find a new hobby cuz gaming is not your hobby anymore your hobby is belly aching about gaming your good time and I’m talking to people who are having a good time and if I’m critical of Xbox or I’m critical of something everybody gets their their uh their underwear all bunched up and twisted up and they do so that’s that that’s why they’ll say gaming was so much better back then you want to know why gaming was so much better back then because you weren’t spending every single day being hateful you were playing video games you had more of a childlike enjoyment of things now you’re just the shell of men you know spewing boyish nonsense insults and and hate and and you spend so much time in those trenches you can’t see your way out you can’t you you you you can’t you you are now inoculated to mirth and to joy and to having fun and you see other people having it and it makes you mad it was that that Nintendo tweet where the guy said they cooked and it got millions of views and it trended it literally trended because people are doing the stop having fun meme why they’re they’re just that’s what they’re doing they’re so steeped in drinking from the from the well of hate and negativity that they literally can’t experience joy anymore i think even if you think you are right with Sony’s PS5 exclusives there are so many great third party games that’s it literally don’t matter right exactly like even if you think like PlayStation’s been disappointing this gen there still have been so many good third party games like what are you doing what are you playing did you play Split Fiction with a friend did you play Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 did you play Blueprints have you played Expedition 33 what are you doing how How do you How can you think gaming is so bad i’ve got a backlog I’m never going to get to i’m never going to complete it hilly says “I suspect over half just love saying crap they likely make a video bashing this or that and then 10 minutes later they’re likely laughing and playing the thing that they bash.” No Hilly because they get their gamer cards pulled all of the time and they don’t play games they don’t it’s why they say the games back then were better i’m I’m dead serious i’ve got these guys dead to rights i do it’s why I get attacked the way that I do because a hit dog barks they don’t like what I’m saying because they know it’s accurate you liked games back then because you were a better person back then you did you You were You were mirth back then you were a better person you were a kinder person back then and you could experience mirth and happiness and now oh not now now you’re just cruel and angry and miserable and you can’t experience those things anymore so what do you do well it’s the game’s fault the gaming sucks now gaming’s terrible everything’s a corporate this and a and a cash grab that you’ve devolved i mean that’s really what it is a lot of these guys have just devolved they’ve regressed right you see children regress they go back to like their old ways all these people have just regressed and devolved that’s probably more related to the fact that a lot of the uh a lot of them are on series S’s anyway you know if the majority of your Xbox audience doesn’t even need the dad gum disc why make them why
